I switched the spark plugs and it made a big difference but I also definitely need a upgrade my front mounted intercooler as I live in the Arizona desert and summers can get up to 115° not counting the heat off the pavement.

I need help! Just did a valve cover gasket replacement myself. Also fixed a boost leak I had. Once I put everything together I let the car warm up for 30 mins or so, took it on the highway and when I put it in sport and hit the gas (not WOT) it ran amazing for about 10 seconds then I got a cyl 6 misfire. I tried swapping coils & plugs. Nothing changed. Cyl 6 plug had some fuel when I took it out. Getting code 29D2 & 2E35. Probably my injector? (Btw I have index 1) 2007 e92 n54

I would guess the injector. Two years ago I replaced the index 5 injectors with new index 12 injectors on my Z4 with the n54. It’s an expensive project but something you can do yourself with a little mechanical ability and coding software to code the injectors to the ecu. Index 1 is pretty old!

@@z4dude131 it was the cyl 6 injector that died. Got some used index 12s for $400. Replaced bank #2 (4,5,6) fired right up, no more misfire. & im still running index 1 in bank #1. I’m going to replace them but I have to find a shop that will code them for me although they run fine without coding, it’s a temporary fix.

Im having an issue on my N54 where it will drive fine if i keep it below the 5k rpm mark but if i really give it gas it will shake continually until i restart the car assuming its shutting off the cylindar 1,2,3 cause thats where my missfire is comming from according to my code reader. And when i start the car before its warmed up it has a rough time starting and will even somtimes go into limp mode but never after its warm like if i drove it to the store and back out would be no problem but if i wait until the next day go to start it acts like a while different car runs rough sounds louder missfires might go into limp mode might not if i restart when in limp modenit goes away. And has no missfires.

its your HPFP(high pressure fuel pump) its under your intake manifold next to the starter

What if you use the cowl but remove the air filter section?

If you use the engine cover with the bms filters wouldn't that prevent the water from entering those back cylinders? To me it seems maybe it's a combination of things that leads to those water intrusion issues.

That duck noise is so annoying lol but it's the intakes with inlets that make that sound. I got a stock z4 airbox that I'm putting back on to eliminate it.

Nope its not because of the inlets or intakes, i have plenty of cars at my shop that have the same mods without any noise, my outlets were the issue which i already solved

O rings on them were bad, would check your inlets as well

Good question. I always heard eldor was top dog of the oem coils but i guess eldor or delphi depending on what is cheaper at the moment.

Eldor are 100% solid i like them better than Delphi i feel they are a little bit higher quality which is why BMW went the Eldor route. Honestly at the end of the day you cant go wrong with Delphi or Eldor for your tuned application.

I’ve had experience with eldor and Delphi and for my DCT 335is stage 2+ Delphi is way better. Currently switching back to Delphi. My car just misfires like crazy on the eldors I have no idea why. They’re new eldors too.

Mine ended up being outlet pipe o rings, but it could also be boost solenoids or inlet pipe connections to the turbos

@eldios3666 Yeah i know im on my second motor and third set of turbos stated with 17ts then 19ts now flowmax plus full port injection methanol injection PRW coils set manley turbo tuff rods and pistons head studs ported head. So pretty much everything you can do ive done and a back up shot of nitros just in case So hopefully 🙏

If the FRM is bad then you just need to replace and code it which this tool can code

It's weird because everything works other then just left headlight xenon light. Scanner is showing code but I can test it with the scanner and it works for 15 seconds. The light has always water inside and I had to replace balast like 3 times and now it's not working and show code with frm. I seen lots of videos with updating software on frm and that fix the issue but I need programming tool. That's why I asked if this scanner has power to do it. Thanks
