Why do you think the perlite grow bags yield less than the bato buckets with perlite and peat moss? Do you think it’s the media and how much substrate is in each? Looks like the bato buckets hold more? What diameter are those grow bags?

i think they are like 6 inches maybe bigger not sure why. i get more strawberries from bato buckets per plant but grow bags have bigger berries.

Hi Katy! Where do you get your drip tape from? I love your videos. because of you and Springhill nurseries my husband bought me a greenhouse (used high tunnel), it’s a 30 x 96 and I’m trying to figure out what I’m gonna do in it. I got a small NFT channel set from Crop King and 30 Beto buckets and I’m learning a lot from you, thank you.

that is great. I picked up the drip tape from an irrigation store. They sell all kinds of stuff for sprinklers etc.

Are you able to reuse the perlite and perlite/ peat mix after the crop is done? Would it get too much nutrient salts buildup?

I rinse the medium in plan water and reuse it a couple of times seems to do ok

I'm concerned about wayer and nutrient use when using grow bags and not capturing the solution back to the tank. I'm experimenting now with hydroponics NFT, and dutch buckets, returning it back to the tank, and I'm surprised at how much water, nutrients are used.

My nft is a recirculating system. Bato and grow bags are drain to waste. The secret is to only provide just enough nutrient water and not have any discharge. I do this with timers and sensors. No waste.

so the nutrient solution does not drain from these bags? Ive heard that strawberries dont like "wet feet". how has this worked out for you?

They do drain. The bags have drain holes in the bottom.

Hi! Question, do you grow only one strain of strawberry? Or is it not recommended (based on your knowledge and experience) to grow different strains of strawberries close to each others hydroponically? Your videos are fun to watch and informative, thanks!

Hello!! I grow one strain. "Albion" I want everbearing strawberries so I can have them available for my customers all year long. Having strawberries from different strains really does make a difference. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!

I do. I try to a least get a couple of plantings out of each system and I'm looking at sterilizing growing medium with hydrogen peroxided
