Thank you very much Spice N' Pans for posting this. Most videos say, "just use a knife to scrape." Keeps on making wholes, I use cow intestines to make boerewors, has been taking me forever. Subscribed and liked, something I very seldom do.

Saw it somewhere in one of the restaurant in Korea where they 'marinate' the intestines in pineapple puree for a few hours( you need to blend urself using fresh pineapple) and there's no more odour.
@eldwinc15462 жыл бұрын
better yet, just marinate in soda - sprite or coca cola both work. the acidity & carbonation will speed it up drastically
@ARCSTREAMS Жыл бұрын
@@eldwinc1546 you mean all you do is throw them into soda and leave for a few hours and then wash and that it? no need to scrub with vinegar salt n water? how about gingerale?

Really depends on the butcher and where you buy it from. I know in Asia this method would work but certain western countries where they do minimal cleaning, if I did cleaned only for 10-15 minutes I would feel like I was eating shit when I cooked it haha. Speaking from experience in the US / Northeast, the pig large intestines I need to wash for 30 minutes . Method/ingredients are the same of course . In China 10-15 minutes would yield a good non shit smelling intestine.

can I use baking soda, instead of rice flour and salt? Thank you...
@HalibutToast3 ай бұрын
if you have regular all-purpose flour, that might be fine. I'm not too sure about baking soda, as idk how that would react with the thin intestine meat. However, I can't say I've ever cleaned them with baking soda
