Before watching your video, I was wondering how it would look if i just cut my original down. After watching your video, i got my answer. You're right to cut it on the back side. If you slip with the knife on the backside, nobody will see. Great video. Thank you, sir, for sharing.

I used electrical tape so you can shape as you want. I don't remove valence. I follow the tape line with a Sabre saw and finish the cut with a Shure shurform plane. Looks great.

I cut mine without taking it off. I cut a piece of wood block 3.3/4 long put a sharpie pen on top with duck tape went across the whole thing then I had my mark and I took a dremel with tungsten bit and it was off in 5 min.

Thanks dude, this is excately what I needed to see, need to trim down my after market 4 runner lower valance for my lowered truck, thanks for giving me the confidence I needed to do it myself, definitly cutting it from the back with utility knife.

Have read the full valance is better mileage. Looks or mileage? I don't mind the full valance look. Another channel talked to a Ford engineer who said those two plates are related to hauling the trucks?
