I brown boneless pork pieces in deep fry pan, remove and brown lots of onions. Then add back and add liquid (I use wine instead of water) and simmer 45 minutes. Add cabbage leaves (cut big ones in half) 10 min. or so before 45 min is over. When cabbage done, toss cabbage in broth and onions. Add meat. I usually add a little carrot to simmering meat and onions. We love it.

There's a new law being proposed called Cole's law where you have to buy carrots and mayonnaise with every cabbage.

@BartBVanBockstaele Жыл бұрын
Good demonstration. You can make it simpler: do not remove the core. The core should not be removed: it is arguably the best part of the cabbage. As for cooking it in the microwave, covering is not necessary and adding water is not necessary either.

okay I tried 2nd step to chop the cabbage in half... around 1/3 the way through my knife got stuck and cannot go any further...

Freaking cut off bottom, smash bottom on counter and open it up. Boil. Then fry up with butter, onion and can add potatoes, sausage, chopped meat even tomatoes. Fried cabbage is really good and healthy, too. Boiling it makes it super soft and easy to fry up.

Let's start a rumor that before cutting that if you roll a round cabbage across the kitchen counter 13 times that it spins all the flatulence enablers out.

Don't dump the liquid!! Some claim cabbage juice is good for stomach and upper digestive ulcers. This definitely ain't medical advise so maybe Google, check with your local doctor, nutritionist, or maybe even grandma first.😁

Sure, cook that cabbage after you've cut it up and then pour the water in the sink 🤣🤣🤣 The vitamins are mostly gone and that water could be used as a base for vegetable soup. These people have no idea about the purpose of cooking vegetables.
@thomasmaresh52642 жыл бұрын
True. But the nutritional loss is not that much, and Americans are overeating anyway. So, if I have time, I save it as a base for soup; but, it's not critical. If you really are worried, then steam, don't boil. I usually steam.
