- wash hair less often - avoid silicones and sulfates in shampoos and conditioners - be gentle when brushing hair + de tangle before shower - optional: oil ends daily - weekly oil treatment, whether it’s a d.i.y or a mask - no heat - wash hair with cold water if you can or at least warm water not hot - wear protective styles such as braids and loose buns, even when sleeping (if hair is too short for protective styles, then wear a satin bonnet or use a satin pillow case) -

Cutting your hair is an effective way to get rid of split ends. . . If you shave your head. Your split ends are throughout your whole head, and trims will not help, unless your hair is uneven or wispy at the ends. Instead of whole hair trims, take some time before bed and go through your hair and cut our individual split ends, I do it, and get 70 a day, and it works

These are some really great tips! Thanks for sharing! I've been on my hair growth journey for 9 years now, and I do have to say with my hair type I have to use silicones on my hair, and sometimes i have to use shampoos with sulfates in it. Because, I always get product buildup. I only use shampoo with sulfates once a week, and I then i follow up with a heavy duty good conditioner afterwards. Now, as for staying away from heat with my hair's texture and type I need to use a blow-dryer but I only have to use it for 5 minutes after every wash, and i wash my hair 3 times a week. Everytime I wash my hair I spray a good leave-in conditioner, and it has some type of heat protectant in it but the majority of the times I just let my hair air-dry up to 100%. Then, I'll blow-dry for only 5 minutes. But sometimes before I blow-dry i apply an oil to the hair all over, and that really leaves my hair well-moisturized! Now, about the silicones I use a heavy silicone product on my hair every now and then called, "SiliconeMix," and it really works wonders for my hair! It really moisturizes it, and gives my hair a beautiful shine! And, I also still able to seal in other moisturizing products like an oil with the silicones in it. I use a heavy oil.

Because If you have thin hair or Fine hair,wash them daily is more healthy to your hair,my hair get greasy If i don't wash them daily and is not because of my shampoo,neither sun/heat demage,i have always take Care of my hair and i don't use sulfates on my hair and If i do not wash them regularly this make my hair worse,people with coarse/thick hair don't need to wash everyday,our hair is different so what Works to them doesn't always work to my type of hair and i have to use hairdryer,my hair gets better with hairdryer them without him,because my hair is really sensitive when he is wet and i Lose a good amount of hair If i let my hair wet.

What kind of hair ties do you use? I always worry about getting breakage around the hair ties because that's where the hair is most constricted.. if that makes sense. On a sad note, I just got a hair trim and only asked for half an inch just to remove my split ends, and the hair stylist cut almost two inches. 😢 It was getting so long and now it feels like I'm starting over with my hair growth efforts. :(
@OrganicallyAnna6 жыл бұрын
Ellie King I’ve been using the hair ties from TIY, you basically get to tie it yourself and choose how tight you want it! They don’t damage the hair and they don’t pull on my scalp either. But any hair tie with no metal or plastic pieces on it will work. Scrunchies are always a safe bet because they’re soft and gentle, plus they’re so cute lol

Idk why but when I get a trim, the split ends just comes back after like a week, so i’m afraid to get a hair cut since if i cut it short the split ends will just end up going higher, and I’m also scared of not cutting it since my hair looks like a hot mess

My hair starts to shed if I stretch my washes for too long. I have pin-straight, fine, dense hair, and it will mat like a persian cat's fur if I don't use silicones, lol (I have stopped using sulfates as they are bad for the environment and have found sulfate-free shampoos that work for me). Not every haircare tip will work for everyone, lol. It took me a while to become aware of avoiding mechanical damage when protective styling, it's especially difficult on fine hair with fairytale ends.
@OrganicallyAnna6 жыл бұрын
it's just about finding what tips work best for you and your hair type! That's the fun part ;)
@FaithG2116 жыл бұрын

@FaithG2116 жыл бұрын
and what shampoos/conditioners work best for you?
@TheVegan66 жыл бұрын
@@FaithG211 i tend to wear braids rather than buns, tie them with scrunchies only, and if i have to wear buns i'll use claw clips and try to make them really loose. Brushing it all the time will cause damage but i make sure to do it any time it's tangled. shampoo wise i can use cone-free non-moisturizing shampoos (i like the ogx teatree mint one lol), but coney conditioners on the length only

Heyyyy! I've come across statements like "if you keep your hair in layers, your hair tends to have more split ends, and it will NOT GROW FAST". Is this true?
@OrganicallyAnna6 жыл бұрын
Monica not necessarily, if you have layers in your hair you will have more ends that you have to trim, but if you’re taking care of your hair they won’t split any faster than blunt-cut hair. Unless you’re getting your layers cut with a razor, those tend to cause split ends/ the hair is more prone to split when it’s cut on an angle. Just talk to your stylist! :)

I shower everyday and shampoo about twice a week and cowash the days I don’t shampoo. When people say not to wash your hair everyday, do they just mean not to use shampoo or should we not be cowashing either? Or wetting it? I saw a curly girl hair care video and I think she said she doesn’t wet her hair daily. So I’m not sure if that’s specific to curly girl hair care or if I should not be cowashing or wetting my hair daily either.

Your scalp get stressed out by washing it all the time which makes it produce more oil to prevent dryness, but usually it's the other way around if you wait a couple of days between shower it. It will only be oily in the beginning but when the scalp get used to not wash everyday it will stop produce the same amount of oil. I wash my hair 1-2 days a week 😊

Silicones don’t damage hair. Please don’t be afraid to use them. I suggest looking up LabMuffin’s video on hair silicones here on KZbin it’s very informative and she explains why the ingredient is beneficial to your hair health. She in particular likes the silicone amodimethicone, as it adheres to damaged sections of hair , protecting it, while not adhering to the healthy parts.
