Kent Svenningsen Hi thank you, I’m glad you are learning from my video’s. If you don’t have access to a tackle shop you can buy over the internet and eBay. If you tell me where you intend to fish ie small or big fish, small pond, big lake,big or small river I can give you some buying guidance. If you know what to buy it can be very cheap to get started. For instance the very first video I did was on buying a cheap whip and the stuff you need to get started (an introduction to whip fishing) total cost less than £30 or about €33. I also have done video’s on setting up and using the gear and on using and preparing cheap bait! I hope this helps, get back to me if you need any more help. Tight Lines

Good video for a recovering aneurism/stroke patient. I enjoy fishing with cane poles or "whips" as they say in the UK. Never used prepared bait before to lure fish in. Just bait a hook with a worm and wait...lol. Easy fishing is the way I like to do things. Will have to give prepared bait a go here in the Midwest as most of my fishing is done in rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Live Canadian Night Crawlers on a hook is what we Yanks use here. Not quite as sophisticated as you British anglers are but if it works, it works mate.

I really like the rod you are using Bill! Just the right action to catch small fish and enough backbone to catch bigger fish too! I think it’s more challenging to catch big or bigger fish on a rod like that! A person really always needs to challenge him or herself every once in a while to keep things more interesting, you know?! But, good video Bill! I really enjoyed it! 👍👍❗️

Hensley’s Hobbies Hi thanks for the nice comment. I prefer using a lighter action rod if possible for the fun and if there weren’t loads of snags I could get a 20lb carp out! I have tried it for catching Mullet in the sea, mainly of the harbour wall and they fight like crazy. My best on this rod was only about 3lb plus but it was fun and I managed mackerel as well and that was so much fun on light tackle. Tight Lines

James Davis Hi glad you enjoyed the video. As I work solo it is very difficult to get all the action. For instance when shooting this video the camera had the sun behind it and made it impossible to see the monitor, on others I have to have the camera to one side and I can’t sit on my box and move the camera to get the best angles. Maybe when I can afford a decent action camera to use in tandem I may get more good footage tho’ do try to use another camera to get other angles but I need to catch not spend all the time jumping on and off my seat. So please accept I do my best under the circumstances . Anyone want to be behind the camera? Tight Lines

Another great video full of advice . I'm new to fishing and I join my hooklength to mainline using loop to loop is there a way of undoing the knot or just cut it any help please
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
craney c Hi well if you are using Drennan ready tied hooks there is a diagram inside the cover showing how to join the hooklength loop to loop so it can just be pushed together and in theory will come apart easily. In practise this doesn’t always work especially if you have caught a big fish as the pressure can lock them together! What I would recommend is tying a Drennan or Cralluso quick snap to the end of your mainline. Make sure you use a good knot. These quick snaps come in several sizes, buy the smallest, they weigh about the same as a number ten shot and have a breaking strain of about 5 kgs so will not break! I have been using these for quite a long time without any problems and as a bonus help prevent line twist. Don’t forget to pull the rubber sleeve over the loop and changing your hooklength will be quick and easy. I hope this helps Tight Lines

Hi just wondered y you don't just put the bait on the hook sorry if I'm been a bit thick lol just learning
@grayggr4 жыл бұрын
A few reasons, fish are less spooked and likely to take the bait as they dot feel the hook straight away, and it also stays on a hair rig much better than on a hook where it can ping off during a cast or also whilst in the water.

Hi Bill great video and its made me consider fishing the waggler on Sunday for an evening session. Although if you think the rod you're using here is quite light, try an old Kingfisher 12 ft float rod! i've only used it once since i got back into fishing, which was back in January fishing a natural lake though i blanked that day. Do you have the Preston large side tray attached to that leg of your seatbox? also that seatbox is just what i need or something just like it for the shorter sessions i've been doing so i'll look into getting one of those. What did you pay for yours? I was wondering if you could do a video on how to change loop to looped hook lengths, so you have a hook length on thats loop to looped, and you want to change to a smaller or bigger hook, how do you do it? because i used to just cut the loop on the mainline and i noticed then that there would be a slight kink on the loop of the hook length where it was connected to the mainline loop. I havent been getting this and there would be no need to cut the line and tie a new loop because with all my pole rigs i tie a small snap swivel which i mentioned before and i got that idea off you a while back.
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
cns180784 Hi well if you look inside a packet of Drennan ready tied hooks they show the correct way to unwind the line and how to attach it loop to loop. For improvers I suggest using rolling quick snaps which you have found are very good. My side tray fits my seat box leg, I have different Preston inserts for my matchbox seat. The box is the Octoplus SuperStool was about £125 new but don’t know if they are still being made. I featured this box on my holiday tackle video and on the one about chair and seat box choices. The other higher quality alternative is the Octbox ultra light system or one of the Nufish chairs with some storage under the seat or Brownings version. On the subject of rod weight I’m going to weigh my Red Range 13 ft on accurate scales to see what it weighs. You must remember it’s the balance of the rod with a reel on it that matters. A heavy outfit can feel light if it’s well balanced. Tight Lines
@cns1807846 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill well i might be on the verge of buying a Preston Onbox 360 have you seen those? light, with a comfortable seat and back rest which comes with an EVA side tray. Someone is selling one for £175 and they're not far from me about 18 miles to pick up.
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
cns180784 Hi well I have seen them advertised but not seen one ‘in the flesh’ so not able to comment on how good they are. On paper they look ok but with ltd storage so you would have to check whether you can fit extra units. The rotating seat looks a good idea but Garbolino did the same idea but it didn’t sell well, on paper a turning seat looks a really good idea but anglers can be fickle about new ideas. Sorry I can’t help more but can’t advise on a product without any experience of it. Tight Lines
@cns1807846 жыл бұрын
For storage it comes with an EVA side tray which is stored underneath the seat so bits of tackle and bait boxes can be stored in that and then opened up nicely next to you as a side tray when setting up, i think i'm gonna get it but i just need to confirm that its a good deal lighter than the box i currently have. I like that Nufish Restabox but the 360 just about does it for me due to the EVA side tray (which is a good size) that it comes with. I just read some peoples' opinions who own a 360 on a forum and theres' no negative opinions of it on there, seems all positive.

Great video Bill quick question I am having problems with line tangles after fighting mid size carp I have just started fishing the waggler and I'm thinking It might be the reel it's a Shakespeare sigma supra rd I'm thinking of buying a Shimano baitrunnet or daiwa ninja reel they have anti twist features will this help tangles are doing my head in
@petemason576 жыл бұрын
Hi David you don't say where you are getting your line tangle. Firstly your reel will never be a problem if loaded correctly with line, but you should never overload it as it will uncurl into a birds nest at the spool. The next place is the float. Providing you have shotted it correctly it will not cause issues plus when landing your fish lay your float over the outside edge of the net as that stops tangles when the fish thrashes around in the net. Best advice to get good advice is be a lot more specific as to the issues you have as this gets a more accurate reply to a fix. Hope this helps. Maybe Bill might have his own suggestions. Good luck.

Ok thanks. As your channel is called Easy Fishing, I wonder if you've heard of or seen the EZFeeda single handed bait thrower? It's easy to use, very accurate and you don't have to put your rod down to feed the bait, therefore you miss a lot less bites. My tackle shop sells them for £9:99. The tool I use for unpicking knots is my Korum quickstop needle. It's got a very fine point and has got me out of a lot of tangles.
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
Clive Bindley Hi yes I had one and the concept is great but my one disintegrated. I think the idea needs more development and if it was it could make the catapult redundant for short range work. Tight Lines
@CB-xr1eg6 жыл бұрын
Maybe you got a faulty one, I've had mine for 5 years, just need to replace elastic occasionally.. No further development needed as far as I can see. You say " disintegrated ", can you explain that?

Is there any chance of doing a video using the same tackle but using a flake punch with bread?
@easyfishing19366 жыл бұрын
Stephen Stocks Hi well I could use flake on the river but I wouldn’t normally use it on stillwaters other than occasionally for Tench or bream. Where I do use flake is on the river fishing the feeder for big bream where in conjunction with ‘likky’ in the feeder it has produced bream to 11lb 4 ozs. If I tried on this lake I would be forever having the bread taken of the hook by small fish! Being honest these days other baits and techniques are superior on stillwaters but bread Punch for example can be brilliant on canals. Tight Lines
