Thanks a bunch , I've been trying to get into my BIOS for about a week and your video did it. My trick for finding my BIOS key was to video the 1 second message that flashes on the bottom of the screen during startup and playback frame by frame. Subscribed ! On a Toshiba Satellite L655 that zooms past entering bios on startup, instead of pressing just F2 to enter Bios, press and hold both ESC and F2 at the same time as you press the power key. Once you're in Bios, reset 'Boot Speed' from Fast to Normal. This might work on other computers also.

I've been working on several of my computers for the past 2 weeks... I've been trying to fix all kinds of problems... I have a desktop computer that I installed windows 10 on, and microsoft decided to put the boot record on my storage drive .... Every fix to try to separate that drive from the system, from web articles to youtube has been a miserable failure... A bunch of other fixes for various things that I've been attempting in these two weeks, also simply have not worked for me, so when I tried disabling fast boot in windows system settings, as you describe here, I WAS SHOCKED THAT IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
@yllib20125 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial!!! My NVMe SSD gets Win10 to the login screen almost instantly. I am willing to give up a little start speed to be able to get to the BIOS easier. I can get into the bios with fast boot enabled but it's a literal race between my pressing the escape key and the machine starting into Windows.

*Attention* I don't know how to get the word out but this did not fix my issue. But I did find a way to fix it. I was unable to get into bios at all. Not doing it from windows. Not after removing the battery, or even spamming the bios keys. It would just give me a black screen until I restarted it and booted back into windows. I have a multiple monitor set up. So what I tried was disconnecting all the monitors but 1. And miraculously, it worked. It booted and showed me the motherboard brand and bios key options when I restarted it. I don't know what causes this, maybe the pc is confused about what screen to display the bios on but just having 1 display to get into the bios worked. I hope this helped someone I spent 3 hours of messing with my pc to figure it out..

This part worked for me by booting up windows, then pressing the power button for 5-10 seconds, then powering it down and lastly booting it back up pressing the corresponding key F2! Brilliant, very much appreciated. I followed the first suggestion on power settings and immediately went into the BIOS settings after a half-hour frustrating search for why the NEC recommended use of the F2 key should get you in - which it stubbornly refused. Now I can proceed to install Linux.

This worked for me, Thank You. During the first boot of the day I would see the BIOS screen and could get into BIOS. If I let Windows10 load, warm up a minute, restart and tried to get into Bios I wouldn't see the BIOs screen and if I hit Delete or F2 it would freeze the screens black and Windows wouldn't load. Your suggestion worked even on Restart. My Windows must be a newer update or something. At the Power and Sleep screen I clicked on Additional Power Settings on the right of the screen. A new window opens There are options under Choose or Customize a Power Plan. I selected the Recommended option Balanced, I think it was High Performance. Just to the left was the Choose What the Power Buttons Do. Hmmm! I forgot to Save Changes. >
