Join me as I (an American) try and review some of the many different foods at the biggest night market in New Zealand! Is it even worth going to? Is it all too overpriced? What should you get when you go? Watch this video to answer all of those questions, and any other questions that you may have!
Thank you for watching the video!!! I hope you enjoy it! Please make sure to SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you haven't already! I have plenty more great future content planned out for you!!! Also feel free to leave a like on the video, so I know if you're enjoying this content!
Leave a comment letting me know, where is your favorite place to go grab local food?

Hangi is steamed in the ground mate, normally over hot stones with wetted cloth and then buried in the ground to help it steam. And that's how the rest of the world does stuffing or dressing. Chicken gizzards are from the stomach of the chicken, really popular in asian street food culture.

i literally live two minutes away from the Pakuranga night markets and go regularly on Saturday nights. If you get the chance to go back try some of the Filipino stalls. The bbq pork kebabs are amazing. you could go there every Saturday for a month and not be able to try everything.

looks like you had a Kranski sausage which is a cheesy breakfast sausage. as for the fried bread you are meant to dunk it in the hangi juices but its Good by itself. if you get Cook Island food like chop suey or Mainese you should get a Cook Island donut and do the same but donut is good by itself too.

How cool Brock, you discovered one of Auckland's hidden jems! The night markets where you can literally find the world of foods in a single place. Vendors from across Auckland decend upon these places and serve some of the yummiest food you will find in NZ. It's a shame not all our major cities have something like this but looks like you had a blast and yes, you are pronouncing 'Hangi' correctly which is essentially a steamed meal traditionally made in the ground but whichever way floats your boat. I've never tried Chicken Gizzard but looks interesting, might try that on my next visit to Auckland. Hope you found the time to go and check out the ice cream at Pokeno 😉

That sausage looks to be a kransky. They usually have smoked paprika and some other seasonings in the meat. You can get them with or without cheese chunks in them. Originated in Slovenia. German sausage makers also make them with a modified recipe which is less fatty than the original.
