What about the research that shows that "clean" eaters actually have a worse relationship with food rather than someone who practices flexible nutrition and allows an occasional "treat" here an there. "Clean" eating isn't sustainable for majority of people. Flexible nutrition with calories, protein, and fiber in check will allow for sustainable micronutrients but allow sustainability because you don't withholds foods because they aren't "clean"
@DolceDiet7 жыл бұрын
#FAKENEWS! "Clean eating" is actually eating REAL FOOD! You know, the same foods that have sustained ALL OF LIFE SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME! Sounds pretty darn sustainable to me!!!
@TheM00ch7 жыл бұрын
Whats fake news about my comment. I in no way shape or form think someone shouldn't eat real whole foods, but for the majority of people it isn't a sustainable lifestyle. OF COURSE eating veggies and lean meats and whole foods will fulfill dietary needs, but for the majority of individuals it isn't sustainable dieting. Im not trying to start an internet war or anything, but if calories, protein, and fiber are in check you will have a good combo of micronutrients AND still be allowed to eat a "treat" so ones diet becomes more sustainable. Now if you have a high level/ professional athlete then of course we need to squeeze out every once of nutritional benefits possible because they most likely have the mindset to do so. right? If eating "clean" was sustainable then everyone would be in good shape, but its not for the general population and it creates unhealthy relationships with food...
@bravetoad57337 жыл бұрын
Taken Not Given Weightlifting don't know if this is 100% relevant to the topic but imo: if your eating habits are not sustainable for the long-term you will build an unhealthy relationship with food always. Those so-called diets that people only are capable for the short-term; "veggie juice periods" etc. are considered real foods and still unsustainable. Just start with veggies and meat you can live with the rest of your life and build quality from there; from mandarin and watermelons to bananas and apples - from beef to chicken etc.
@traviswhitten64527 жыл бұрын
Taken Not Given Weightlifting Eating real "clean" foods, is a sustainable "life style" change. You can't look at it as a "diet" or it won't be sustainable. Of course a regular person doesn't need to be as strict on their nutrition as a professional athlete but if you stick to earth grown nutrients you will see vitality, healthy weight loss, etc. If you are craving something sweet, eat an organic apple, orange, or berries. It's not hard, you don't even have to count calories.
@TheM00ch7 жыл бұрын
Travis Whitten I agree it shouldn't be a "diet" but the will power of some people to eat an apple or orange for something sweet is just not there. Especially when people are surrounded with the amount of crazy food concoctions in this world. Obviously I wish it wasn't that way but it is. Moderation I think is key.

I have been maintaining my nutrition (monitoring macro ratios every day, adding veggies to every meal more and more. Not very good at that yet) for a while, and have been taking what I have been calling a "cheat day" every 30 days if I earn it. If I brutally miss my macro goals or eat a crappy meal (haven't done the latter yet), I'll push the "cheat" back 7 days. It is of weakness, but I crave crappy foods when everyone else around me is eating them. I resist, knowing that I have that cheat coming up in a few weeks. I have felt that my cheat protocol has been effective, as it satisfies my cravings I have had for that month, and makes me feel terribly and reminds me why I don't eat that way. However, is this something I shouldn't do? Should I just get rid of my cheat all together? It has become an ordeal for me and my wife, something we look forward to for weeks and use as motivation to keep clean with micro and macro nutrients. However, if it is really detrimental to progress, we can get rid of it. Typical cheat- local diner stack of pancakes w/ peanut butter and syrup, and then pizza or pizza rolls with some greek ranch or something. Thanks guys! I love watching and listening to your podcast. Helps keep my mind right. DolceDiet also got a new subscriber

In my opinion, consistency and compliance are two key components of nutrition. It takes consistency to create any sort of change, either change you want or the opposite. Doing things that support change in the direction you want to go 80-100% of the time is what is going to continuously push you towards your goals. Anything outside of that, as long as it's infrequent enough, can have an effect but not so much as that it should completely cause you to move away from your goals. You also have to be compliant with your nutrition and ready, willing and able. Your nutrition HAS to align with your lifestyle and the things you do have to be to things you are 80-100% ready, willing and able to to do the majority of your time. For example, if deep down you are not willing to ever eat a piece of pizza again for the rest of your life and your diet calls for never eating pizza again, this simply will not work. It is at odds with what you are willing to do. If having some pizza every once in a while keeps you compliant and on the train where you're doing the things you need to do to push you towards your goals then, in my opinion, that is fine as long as you recognize 3 things. 1. That these treats should be way less frequent relative to what you need to do. 2. You seek to treat in moderation and refrain from going to excess. 3. You need to understand the tradeoffs of treating. Maybe your progress is slower than you hoped. Maybe the changes are less dramatic than you hoped. You MUST be ok with those potential tradeoffs if you choose to treat. So now you need to ask yourself, what are you ready, willing and able to change?
@dustinpierce50377 жыл бұрын
Fantastic reply. Thank you! I feel as though only treating myself with a meal once a month is very infrequent. At least, comparatively. To be honest, I have never progressed as fast as I have while doing this and keeping my nutrition clean and fueling in between.
@dustinpierce50377 жыл бұрын
superblonde Your derogatory and illiterate comment can't be taken with any legitimacy. Also, as I keep going, I have less of a desire for a cheat day. I think cheat days are mentally important in the first 6 months or so. Feeling crappy after a cheat has been enough to slowly turn me away from them.

I wish he had a diet for his language, such great diet information but the language is so incredibly offensive and does not strengthen his message at all. I wise man once said that the use of profanity is an attempt of a weak mind (at least in vocabulary) trying to appear strong. Would not share this with my family just because of the language.

General Orders August 3, 1776 The General is sorry to be informed that the foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing, a vice hitherto little known in our American Army is growing into fashion. He hopes that the officers will, by example as well as influence, endeavor to check it and that both they and the men will reflect that we can little hope of the blessing of Heaven on our army if we insult it by our impiety and folly. Added to this it is a vice so mean and low without any temptation that every man of sense and character detests and despises it. (Signed,) George Washington George Washington was no snowflake. It is strength not weakness to discipline the tongue as well as the body and the appetite! Just as I could eat anything I want anytime I want I must choose not to if I want a strong lean body, I can say anything I want but if I want to be effective in communication rather than offensive I must choose my words wisely. That is just my position you do not have to agree but it is one of the things I stand for and will not change no matter who does not like it! Thought this person might like to know how I felt as a viewer in the interest of creating more subscribers but if that is not a concern then continue on and I will go else where.

I’m not a huge fan of the swearing either… But I would never throw the baby out with the bathwater. And if this information could help a family member and possibly even save a life then yes I’m going to share it. Is the swearing my favorite thing… Nope. I agree with you. But we’re going to HIS channel to listen to HIS information and he has the right to deliver it in anyway he sees fit.
