Oh my goodness, I love canned carrots. Sometimes I open a jar into a saucepan, add a TBSP of brown sugar and about 2 TBSP maple syrup. It is delicious. We also love adding them to our soups and stews. Even as a side dish on their own, with salt and black pepper. I turned my nose up at canning them for years, but now they're one of my favorites. (Those and potatoes.) Everyone is different, and there's no shame in not liking the taste of something. I love how you used all of these carrots today to help use them up. Great ideas!
@maryarmstrong751111 ай бұрын
For the carrots my grandmother always boil the carrots with a little bit of 7up. And if you don't want to use that maybe you could use a little bit of seltzer water and lime or lemon juice. And a little bit of sugar but you could also always use a bit of honey.

Hey, Kelsey! If you have a drawer in your stove underneath your oven it’s actually a warming oven. When I am in the middle of drying something in my oven then realize that I need to use the oven for something else, I put the thing I’m drying in the warming oven. It continues to be drying as I’m using my oven. Then when I’m finished with the oven and I turn it off I put the thing I’m drying back in the oven that is cooling down. If it’s herbs or almond meal or bread crumbs that’s all it usually needs to be done. If you want longer just start your oven again at the temp you wish.

@@christineeckhold6341 I’ve never known there to be a “warming button” I just figured it’s the warming drawer because it’s under a hot oven. But I suppose were there a warming button than you wouldn’t need the oven on for the drawer to be warm.

If someone can't handle your "real life" home, I'd say they either don't have more than one young child, hire a maid or don't cook while living life to its fullest while caring and interacting with those young children. When I only had 1 baby, I could keep up with the house. When I had one baby and one toddler it became much harder. By the time I had a baby and a toddler and a very mobile & vocal child, I gave up. As long as dirty dishes and pans were taken care of, food was put away, the clutter of unfolded clothes and child toys or drying art projects could wait. I needed sleep and it was more important to give my children a bath and clean jammies followed by me reading them a story etc than fold those clothes. You have no need to explain or apologize to the rest of us caring moms. We understand!
