In Spring, my local grocery had a sushi special- even flew in sushi chefs from Tokyo. They brought A5 Kobe. I grilled it, served it on sushi rice and asparagus tips. I nearly cried.

Sushi doesn’t mean fish. It’s the rice that is prepared with vinegar & sugar. You can eat it with whatever you want. But, yes, it is traditionally prepared with fish, but not exclusively.

I collect toys and that would be an episode that I would love to see. Plus Simon says a lot of off pudding stuff that is so funny. Then Martina chimes in and makes it ten times funnier. Jun is very reserved. These two takes off and I find myself cracking up so bad.

my teacher told me that japanese salmon is called しゃけ/さけ/鮭 and cannot be eaten raw. the ones from norwegia is simply called サーモン and they’re the ones eaten raw for sushi / sashimi. gotta love these geeky piece of food knowledge!

I've been keeping you guys in my heart this week and binge watching your videos again. You're one of my inspirations to travel more, which is saying something because I'm like 95% a homebody. But this year I went on a two week trip to England, Scotland, Wales, Germany and France and it was amazing. Just getting out of my comfort zone, doing things and eating things and learning things, it was awesome. I've already started planning a trip to Japan which has been a bucket list thing for a decade. Might not happen for a while, that's a lot of money to save and before I can I need to take care of my responsibilities (why is my roof leaking?!?) xD but it's in my sights and the internet now knows my wishes and won't stop giving me travel ads for Japan xD

I squeed when I realized you guys were at the toy capsule restaurant again! I wish they would put one here. I think it would be a hit! Oh man, these all look so amazing! its so nice to see that there are some that have beef in them too! I can't eat seafood, so when we go out to eat here and want to eat sushi, I'm usually stuck with all veggie, and I am such a carnivore. Only one place I know of has an off-menu chicken tempura sushi, and it is AMAZING. OMG I also just noticed that Martina has fish earrings. That's so awesome and perfect!

So the video was great and it really encourages me to try to find Kaiten Sushi experiences here in the States while I build up the mone- I mean the experience to get a trip to Japan, but side comment: at like 5:15 I could hear Pomp and Circumstance playing in the restaurant in the background and I had War Flashbacks to High School Honor Band. It all looks so good! I miss kaiten sushi so much. Love the video! A pronunciation tip to help you out, gunkan is pronounced closer to "goon-kahn" the "u" is always an "ooh" sound, and "a" is always "ah". It was very cute when you said gunkan like it rhymes with Duncan tho

I think the weirdest sushi I've ever had was a tuna and strawberry one with cream cheese. Needless to say it was not good. Salmon is actually my favourite fish to have on sushi 😂 no shame in being basic. Love you guys. Stack of plates? Hopefully a toy is incoming! Last time I went to kaiten in my town I got a tokidoki keychain :D!!! (but you win a prize every 15 plates, it's not random). I loved the history you guys threw in about the kaiten sushi, I didn't know it took 5 years to get the speed and all that right. That's SO RAD! Martina, that lip color is EVERYTHING what is it? I have a similar skin tone to yours and I've been looking for a shade similar to that for a while now. The strangest sushi I ever had was this huge roll with beef and asparagus? Like the packed an American dinner in and then rolled it in rice. It was wild. I was not a fan overall, but it was fun to try.

It's like you are in my head. CoCo Curry and Kura Sushi are the restaurants we ALWAYS go to when in Japan. It's just so good and convenient. My favourite Sushi at Kura is the Ebi or Salmon Cheese. It has flambéed cheese sauce on top and has this burnt after taste I really don't want to like it, because it feels super unauthentic, but I can't help it. IT'S JUST SO FREAKING GOOD.

Looks amazing. I'm thinking about checking it out when I'm in Tokyo again this autumn :D My favourite "traditional" sushi are inari, tako, unagi and tamago. I always have to get those and see what else is available. And kappa maki since my daughter loves kappa, she even has a kappa plushie doll. Oh and hotate are also delicious as topping. This would indeed be a great place for my husband since he hates fish but there is enough choice here for him. Love your earrings btw

The strangest sushi I had in Japan was cheeseburger. Tiny little cheeseburgers on rice. They were so cute also. And I agree with everyone else. The earrings are so cute.
