Never say never bro. I used to paint when i was a tee, i had clean but not more than decent resoults. I started painting again 4 y ago and it’s incredible how my paintjob stepped up in quality with the help of practice and the best youtubers (scott being one if them). 4 y ago i’ve never heard about a wash, and the first use really made me think “liquid talent!”, now painting minis is not just a way to kill time when home alone, it’s a true passion, and thanks to these videos i have teachers and peaple to share my hobby with. Good luck for your painting future 🙂

I've gotta say, this is probably my favourite Warhammer channel on KZbin. Your videos are full of character and not so clean-cut which sets them apart from Warhammer TV videos which I find are very informative but get a bit dull after a while. Your videos on the other hand vary between tutorials, reviews and other cool stuff which I find is far more entertaining to watch, particularly your 'eavy metal marines series.

Great video and great paint job. 'Eavy Metal's recipe for Blood Angels is 50/50 Mephiston & Evil Suns for the basecoat, that's why they're brighter. Over white primer, too, I believe. Shade is Khorne/Black 50/50. Edges are Evil Suns, Troll Slayer, Tau Light Ochre, and Tau/White 50/50.

I actually have no interest in Blood Angels, but this came on through autoplay while I was scrubbing stripped minis. I really liked all the information about modelling at the start of the video, and the commentary about various painting techniques as you went along. I wasn't watching much because I was paying attention to getting paint off, so I appreciated the soundtrack in the background as well. And again, I appreciated how the ad placement was handled.

That's not how welding works, you are thinking of soldering/brazing where the base material is not melted. Fun fact: The only difference between soldering and brazing is that soldering is done below 840°F and brazing above 840°F

Sweet! My Know no fear set arrived last week, and I just couldn't decide what chapter to make my Primaris. Finally on Saturday I decided to make them Blood Ravens, and the paint scheme you used looks much closer to BR than BA, bar the bone colored shoulders Ravens use. Thx for the awesome guide.

I said it before and I'll say it again; kudos for doing all that edge highlighting 'cause GW/'Eavy Metal sure does love them some edge highlighting. Watching the prep was an interesting touch, as was seeing it done in sub-assemblies. As for the latex glove... well... I mean I guess it was a good thing? Honestly I only ever use one when I'm laying down a coat of primer because otherwise they're kind of superfluous when you're also using cork/wood/painting stands.
@Miniac7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, part of the reason why gloves are nice is because If I get stuff on my hands and go to itch my eyes or eat food with my hands, I dont want to get paint/primer chips all up in by bizness.
@jhonnylacksville67654 жыл бұрын
forget that! your color looks way better then box art. reminds me of the classic blood angel color.
@McToast13377 жыл бұрын
I really like the result, I love the comicish clean 'eavy metal style and often try to copy it too. One thing about the slightly orange look your mini has at the end: If you try to highlight a bright red any further it always becomes orange or pink. To smooth things out a bit I use slightly brighter highlights than I'd like to and put a couple really thin glazes - really just reddish water - of the base red color over all red parts. Takes away some of the orange without killing the highlights. By now I do this with every color I paint but with red the result is the most obvious.

There was more painting in my add than had been in the video till that point. ; ) Honestly though, it was completely worth the wait. Have you considered doing a video specifically on your mini prep toolkit? What was that pointy thing at 1:25? That seems like a useful thing to have.

I always build my minis before painting and basing, because i'm worried it will interfere with adhesion. This sub assembly method you demo'd really makes you commit to painting but offers superior ease to get all those nooks and crannies.

If you use Tamiya Orange cap cement you can squeeze chest halves together and "fill" the seam. Of course the easy builds don't need it.
