I guess I'll be 'that guy'. The symbol on the jerry can is called a Crux Terminatus. It likely isn't a real one (which all include a piece of the Emperor's Armour), but it is the same symbol. Awesome video by the way, it's super cool that you chose to do a different chapter to the first 18!

If you want the original paints, you should watch midwinter minis videos about the 2nd edition 40k starter set. The coat darms line of paints are actually the original GW paints rebranded, including the chestnut wash.

@@squids24 Just keep in mind that Coat d'Arms are the GW paints from the early-mid '90s. The inks that most people remember are from the GW range after that, from when they changed paint supplier in 1997-98, and they're apparently quite different to the CdA washes. I've heard rumours that the 3rd edition-era inks were rebottled Winsor and Newton artist's inks, but I've never actually tested that myself.

I will say I enjoyed branching out to using different products when I got more into the Hobby. They're a decent stepping stone into a much larger world. Experimenting with different paints is great and a lot of fun comes from it.

I know you have done the Black Legion, and that's essentially black armor. But I'd love to see your take on a Raven Guard color scheme. Maybe even a comparison of what you would do as a tabletop ready paint scheme for an army versus the substantial edge highlighting eavy metal look. Great video, I always enjoy watching all the work you put in and there's just enough jokes to keep it fun. Please, never stop.

Good to see Hawk Lords being represented, love their air-superiority and jump tactics. Also, it's a great color scheme when pulled together properly! Representing the 'lesser-known' chapters is great and I think the release of 9th and Indomitus with new Space Marine sculpts will bring out a lot of interest for folks building new armies and delving into those schemes.

So, I've been a fan of your channel of a while now. I've seen this video a few times already. I have been trying to pinpoint where I keep making mistakes and why I don't improve. This video figured out my issue. I rely heavily on washing the entire model using multiple washes for specific colors. Now, I have to tone down on the full wash and just get the colors on and layer up and highlight. Thanks.

I think one reason the 'Eavy Metal style utilizes edge highlighting so much is that it shows off the sculpt, rather than being a showcase for the painters skills, and ultimately it's there to sell the models

There's this one method of painting yellow that I remember seeing that looked really nice. During the priming stage, you use pink for the shading. This will result in a more vibrant, almost sun-kissed kinda yellow!

I just bought my first set of space marines/necrons minis and really love your channel. I really need to learn alot about painting tho as my first result is.. well.. far from your skill and it kinda hurt my ego but I gotta say I love how calm and focus it make me feel doing it... Scott, next time you do a sub assembly video, for a sponsorship you should reach out to a local Twin Cities winery/vineyard and ask them for $$$ and a shitload of corks / bottle stoppers. Since the brand is shown every time you're working with it, and you routinely get good viewership, I'm sure a shoutout to them would be worth money.
