This universal intercooler kit from eBay was the right price, and is the commonly used size for a 99-06 GMT800 truck. It should fit very well behind the grille with a little fabrication, and will look very sleek in all black.
Here’s a link, though this isn’t a sponsored video, ad, affiliate link, nothing of the sort. Just thought it might help you guys out

Nice looking kit. I’d say pass a dingle ball hone down the pipe to get rid of the paint. It would worry me a bit too. That’s a lot of debris to ingest if stuff goes wrong.

Hi Barry I just found your channel and I’m thankful for it. As I was watching the LC9 AFM DOD delete process for my daily. And I have a honest question in your opinion dose a LS that has never had a issue in 137k miles need to be sent out and machined. I noticed in your series you didn’t send out anything. So I figured it’s possible to get away with not doing it. But at the same time I really need this truck to be reliable. Idk I guess I’m just looking for a honest informed opinion from someone who has a decent amount of experience on the subject.

Hey man, I’d only recommend machining if you can see that a bearing spun and hurt the block, if a piston came apart and put a big scratch in a cylinder, or if you’re trying to make more power by decking the heads, etc. The best way to make the engine reliable is to put a new set of piston rings and new cam, crank and rod bearings in it and do regular oil changes. Thats about all you have to do and the engine will last another 200,000 miles without having to be touched. I have a 6 litre that has 250,000 miles on it and the cylinders still have cross hatches and the bearings actually weren’t too bad. Its all about maintenance

@@StationroadRatrods Barry thank you so dam much for responding back to my question. I have been absolutely stressed to the max about my LC9 and it’s AFM/DOD crap. Now I’m feeling a million times better about it and completely going through this motor and truck in general on my own. Once the 2012 is completed I can breathe again knowing it’s good to go. And start on the 2001 short bed step side that’s been in my possession since 2003. Oh I wanted to add both trucks since being in my possession have had oil changes with mobile 1 and K&N filter every 3000 miles. So as far as I know the internals should be good to go. It’s been a long time coming I been holding on to my 2001 short bed regular cab just waiting patiently to do some stuff to it. That block only has 140k on it the frame needs some work because I live in Michigan and they put very corrosive crap on our roads. But I cannot wait to make it a mustang killer that truck has been so good to me over the past 20 years. It has NEVER let me down it has never not 1 dam time left me stranded. It literally got me from point A to B all the way up till I bought my first house 3 years ago. It made sure my fiancé got to all of her doctors appointments when she was pregnant with our son. That truck is going to be completely redone and parked in the garage. Brought out on nice days to be enjoyed such a good pickup truck. I have to say generally GM products have treated me and my family very well overall. I can remember all the way back to my dad having a Buick Regal. That car was bomb proof as well and he kept that car for 18 years of my life. And still managed to sell it for 1500 bucks that was a sad day for me I wanted to keep that one as well. If I had that car right now it would definitely be getting a LS with a turbo. But such is life can’t keep them all. love the channel and very much appreciate the content you have made. It’s loaded with very good information and in my case very important content to keep a dependable vehicle parked in my driveway. Sometimes people forget how important it is to have a vehicle that’s dependable. Till they don’t

@Johnny-jr2lq anytime at all man, and I hope you get to do the work on that regular cab, I bet it’s a sweet truck! They salt the roads here in Newfoundland too, it just destroys vehicles if you winter drive them.
