Ebay sales in July. Are promoted listings still worth it?! UK reseller

Congrats on the 5 year selling anniversary! I love the what sold videos, they are super helpful and interesting. Especially since there are not THAT many UK resellers doing what sold videos. I love watching the US ones, but they don't really tell me anything useful for selling in the UK - different brands and different buyers! So any what sold videos from UK resellers are gold dust :D I hope one day my shop will be big enough to do some videos, too Xxx

Hi Chloe I like both types of vlogs these type are really interesting and I hear of brands I've not heard of before but I also love your more chatty vlogs as you have a wicked sense of humor. If I only picked up stuff that would make £20 profit when I’m sourcing I would never find anything! What with charity shop prices and no one on Ebay wanting to pay much for anything these days (anyone else getting stupid offers almost all the time??)

Oh I completely get that! There’s no way I could survive just doing that. But it’s a question I’ll be asking myself more when I’m sourcing, because I buy too much stuff that is worthless 🙈 and yes to the low offers!!

I put a minimum value to offers so they don't offend me. 😅 ebay does half of the job by rejecting the low ones.

Love these videos chloe i like the nitty and gritty with numbers, been following for a while so thought i'd make my first comment! Ebay was piss poor for me last month 25% down compared to june. i'm predominantly a depop reseller but cross list to other platforms, ive been using the boost feature on depop on every item over a tenner which is a painful 8% but it has increased the volume im selling so swings and roundabout really, i am looking to fine tune the items im picking up in the next month for sure though (aiming for £15+ per item) ! Anyway im blabbing, love your videos 😂

For some time now, ebay shows item only once in search results. Either as promoted or organic.

Just to add an extra maybe take postage out of the profit ❤ also think maybe up your postage as your probably out of pocket postage wise with the fees on that also (not sure if you do online postage or post office)

All I know, is that eBay we’re tinkering with promoted listings mid July and a lot of sellers saw a tank in their promoted traffic. I noticed a huge dip in my impressions mid July too. But as always, eBay have been extremely vague 🤣

I’m a registered sole trader. If you’re buying to sell you should be opening a business for tax purposes. Have a little google, it’s not to difficult to do! 🙂
