I have a 2020 Giant Reign 1 pro with the pad only no display! Got the speed box 2 installed and used the walk button to activate it but doesn’t de restrict the speed. Still works as sold? Any other sequence on the pressure pad or something that I missing? Please advise.

@@lovegodification The secret is to hit the walk button and then you’ll see the lights start going up and then you push the up pad and that will activate the speed box. I much prefer a display that let you know what Modron but that’s what works! Hit walk button then up button and your in plus 20. Hope this helps!

This video is useless if you have a 2020 model. I have a 2020 e reign and you can’t even get the motor out without dropping the whole motor but you can do this without taking the motor out just go through the battery box and remove the four screws at the bottom and then remove the bash plates.

I bought a Speedbox 2.0 for Giant. After connecting the cables correctly with my Giant Grand Tour (2018), I pressed the power button, the display only shortly flashed 2 seconds and then displayed 'off' and 'system message' and then automatically turned of. Mine seemed to work fine when testing (before tucking everything away and putting covers back on) once I had everything back together it didnt seem to work and showed a speed sensor error when riding then red light and speed goes to 0.0mph. I have opened motor back up and all seemed connected ok. Do I have to take out the speedbox, put everything back together and go a cycle to reset everything then try again? (A suggestion I was given) Kind of at a loss what to do. Any help would be appreciated. It’s a brand new bike but I made sure to go on a 20 mile cycle before installing as per instructions with the speedbox.

@@paulkazjack Don’t be stupid. Its a speedbox chip not an engine 😂It’s fixed now the original chip was faulty. Derestricts it to same level as USA (20 mph) helps more with hill assist as I usually do about 25mph using human power on the flat.

Have the Giant Trance e+1 Pro 2020, cabeling is different Boy examble, there are two red connectors!! With all the cabeling there is very, very less space for the box and all the cabeling. By the way speedbox 2 dosen‘t work on my bike don’t know why. Need help...no reply by mail...use all possible activate codes....walk button alone, walk and plus button, walk and light button, light button alone....nothing works...I‘m in the mood to send it back...useless at the moment...

Thats not alot, whats your top speed? You should be hitting 30mph ..you will need to use the gears though (higher gear needed for more speed) but your motor should never turn off tbf when activated

It depends on your country, most likely it is, it's pretty restricted around in the EU. In my country you would have to register you bike as a moped and have insurance on it... This of course varies between countries. I know this is an old comment but just putting this in here if anyone else is wondering the same.

Illegal in the uk, noone will catch you. But if you get in an accident youre technically driving an unlicenced, uninsured motor viehicle so youll lose your driving licence

However, if you're looking for a basic model to try out eBiking this is a great choice. The assembly is easy as far as bikes go (took about an hour for me to do, I'm not an expert). All tools needed are included. I added the plastic mud guards you see and a more comfortable seat. The other reviews are correct that you're probably going to want a better seat (Giddy Up! Bike Seat is what I got - super comfortable). The battery easily handles a 2-4 hour ride if you add some of your own pedal power. I haven't even gotten it up to top speed yet - it is very fast. Components are not top of the line, but decent for the price and work just fine. It works great on dirt roads and singletrack and pavement although too heavy to do tricks or any serious technical mountain biking. I'm looking forward to using it a lot over the summer. Tons of fun!
