Thanks for watching. This blower starts and runs but for some reason it won't get to full speed. The fix was actually kind of easy.

So, you learned something about Echo machines, they are notorious for the exhaust port clogging up. As soon as I heard it run the first time I knew right away the port was clogged. But I have literally done thousands of these over the past 30 years so I know that about Echo machines from a lot of experience. Good job figuring it out.

thanks and to be honest this is the first I've seen, and chalked it up to "too much oil" in the mix. But I think every 2 stroke has the opportunity to clog up and with this blower, I'm definitely going to consider it as a possibility from now on . Thank you TJ Clarke!

It might be worth making connections with your small engine repair shops. Oftentimes, they will have scrap/junk units in a “boneyard,” which is great for finding things like blower tubes, wheels, housings, etc.

The last little thing I would recommend is taking a map gas torch to the catalytic converter. In this particular case. Carbon built up in the port and carbon on the plug. Doubtful the converter escaped the build up as well.. Awesome video as usual brother.

Do you think I'll need to replace the muffler then, since the converter is inside it? I didn't consider it. Thank you for informing me!

No need to replace after burning it out. Just treat it like burning the carbon off a spark arrestor screen and it will breath better for sure.@@HomeGaragechannel

I've had a good week. I got two trash picked push mowers ready for sale at a total cost of $9 and a 3 inch piece of fuel line. I love the fact that people are so ignorant when it comes to equipment. It certainly makes it easier to pay the bills, lol. I also got one of my long term project riding mowers running for the first time in about three years. Even the 6 year old battery that was in it is still good. All it took was a fuel filter, a quart and a half of oil, and a used needle and seat assembly from my Nikki parts stash. I got the oil for free, so it only cost me $5 for the fuel filter, and I already had one laying around. I guess we all get lucky sometimes. lol

Great vid HG. I think another commenter mentioned this but ill double down on it also. A propane or MAP gas torch and air gun to burn and blow out carbon from the muffler. Its bound to be blocked to a certain extent judging by the condition of the exhaust port. A good find for you, and it will make a great blower for someone. Cheers from Aus.

Nice job! What makes it necessary to adjust high and low settings? Do they vibrate out of tune over the years? Changes to the engines efficiency to burn the fuel mix? Thx!
@HomeGaragechannel
@HomeGaragechannel 3 ай бұрын
Thanks, if it won't idle or tries to stall when "blipping" the throttle, Adjust the L screw. And you need to check that the engine is not a "full speed" when the trigger is pulled an instead, a bit "rich" with fuel. That's when you check the H screw. As the diaphragm starts to harden up, basically what you said about the changes in "efficiency", requires that adjustments be made.

there's a protective cap over the middle of the brass part in the middle of the arm for the barrel. You have to remove the cap and then you'll see the screw. It requires a precision flathead like the one for eyeglasses.

My mom has a Husqvarna BT130 with a similar issue. It has a brand new carb, and I deleted the spark arrester. I have also checked the exhaust port, and it seems fine.It starts on the first or second pull and idles extremely smooth, but it doesn't seem like it is running as fast as it should at full throttle. It had the same issue with the original carb as well, so I am stumped. Are there any other possible causes? It is 8 or 9 years old now, and it has a lot of hours on it. It gets used almost every day.

I wanted to ask something about a project i had recently. I got an older (2014) chainsaw from my dad that i remember i used to love when I was a kid. Its not a name brand saw but it has a 52cc engine that is just enough for me to use for cutting fire wood or clean up after a storm. He stopped using it years ago because it could not get up to full speed. I tried everything to fix it, tried adjusting the carb, cleaned the carb, bought a new carb but it still runs slow. I didnt know what the probleme was so i put it down but recently i wanted to try and fix it again and im still stuck with what i was left with years ago. Can you help me in any way possible?(sorry if my message is a little confusing but my english might not be the best)

sure thing, have you done a compression test on it? It might be worn out after all these years.
@IgetTOOsilly
@IgetTOOsilly 3 ай бұрын
Yes I did a compression test on it. First I just pulled on the rope slowly to feel how much it was fighting back and I have to say it was fighting back a lot so I think my dad might have bought some new replacement parts over the years. Edit:I did buy a compression tester recently but it did not arrive yet but if it does then Ill look at the exact compression of the engine.

I found the fix for it! The compression was good for a 10 years old chainsaw and way too good to cause the problem. I took the whole chainsaw apart and i found that my dad once broke the coil inside the handle. I always found it weird how the trigger had a gap between the handle and now I realized that it was the only problem(apart from the hardened fuel lines) with the chainsaw.
