Your last 3 videos were for the Echo show but she is not in any of your thumbnails. No one is interested in Echo and the show was all over the place. How do you make a show with Indians boring? We need super hero stories. Mind bending action where it's like a game of chess with super hero powers. Lay down the rules and power sets and have fun with it. At this point in 2024 we should have had a Kingpin Show and a Daredevil show on Disney+ by now. What you're witnessing is mismanagement of intellectual property. A historical failure with Star Wars and now Marvel. This will be a costly failure for share holders and fans of story first.

@@rezsurfer2808 It's not up to Ryan to figure out what an actor wants to be called. Sometimes the actor or studio wants to push the fact that they used real Native American actors. Just like Prey, the Predator prequel. Which portrayed Indians better than Echo by the way. In Echo they were there for demonstration purposes like they were putting on a show. In prey, they were badass.

A little extra context since I watch everything with subtitles. In the scene where Maya is fighting her first guy and the sound goes down on just the heartbeat, the subtitles explicitly say two heartbeats. In the close quarters and wrapped up with someone, you'd feel two heartbeats. When we hear the snap the subtitles say single heartbeat. Just a really cool detail they put in there.

Wanted to point that out, too. That wasn't her heartbeat stopping because she is now a killer. It was his heartbeat she felt. I was ready to fight for my take on it, but when the subtiles say it. I won't need to :)

You left out the best 1 second of action in the entire series. The expression on Maya's face when one of her partners jumped Daredevil and distracted him from the beatdown that Maya was taking. That 1 second of facial expression ALONE is enough for an Oscar. Nothing she was doing was affecting Daredevil. She KNEW she was outmatched and about to go down. The expression on her face was one of sheer panic, desperation, and a resolve to find a weapon very quickly, since she's fully aware that the Daredevil will finish off her partner very quickly and come back to her. That 1 second of facial expression is one of the coolest and funniest things ever. Her partner gave her a little bit of relief from the beatdown she was taking, and she was grateful. :D

Just about done with episode 3. I don't know if this will make sense but i love the fact, they wrote a strong character who is female, not a strong female character. Hopefully you understand what i mean. Also another weird statement, i like how each character has their own feel to their sign language. No two characters sign the same way.

I disagree… they promoted this show as being a daredevil tie in and a rated MA show, watched the whole series. More pointless pandering feminist nonsense. She somehow is a better fighter than daredevil, never gets hit, and literally pointed a gun at kingpin 9 different times without ever doing anything. Not sure what the whole point of this show was to be, another placeholder forced cameo of daredevil, which doesnt hold true at all to the character they went with.

Just finished the show, liked how the show is almost a standalone how it gives Maya background and motivation not needing to watch Hawkeye to see how she is. Only one person if you don’t follow marvel is DD cameo

2 things: 1) On Maya's first mission, when one of Kingpins's hitmen says, "The Kingpin thanks you for your loyalty.," as a signal for the inside man/security guard to kill the other guard and let them in, that's a reference to an oft repeated line from Punisher comics (also Daredevil comics maybe ?) "The Kingpin sends his regards." This is a line said by Kingpin's men right before they kill someone, sort of a personal touch to let them know who ordered their deaths. It's said to Punisher in the comics by killers working for the Kingpin at least twice that I remember in attempts to kill him. 2) Maya's wound is from a bullet, not a stab wound. It's not clear who shot her. I like the idea of bounty hunters working for the Kingpin.

I just watched the whole show and for those wondering I think they did Fisk and Matt for the little screen time they had absolutely perfectly and if they keep this energy going into Daredevil Born Again then I think it's going to be amazing! As for the rest of the show, I absolutely enjoyed it and although it has a mountain of flaws in my opinion specifically with some of the editing and pacing I thought for what the creative team had to work with with a stupid Disney plus limited episode format they did a spectacular job. My biggest criticism is the lack of episodes, which, going forward, Marvel is working on correcting by giving Daredevil 18 and other shows at least 8 or 9. Echo is short and sweet in the best way possible for a TV-MA show. Yes, it's not perfect, but it's nowhere near bad either. 7.5/10

What an awesome series! I just finished the whole thing and it only gets better. There were a couple of mistakes you made with character’s relationships with Maya (the guy from the roller rink is her paternal uncle, and the older couple at the start are her maternal grandparents) but that didn’t really get cleared up until the second episode. I absolutely love how they handle Kingpin in this series, he feels like a real threat in ways recent MCU villains just haven’t. Again not spoiling anything, there’s a stinger at the end of the finale that has me the most hyped for future MCU projects I’ve been in a long time!

My favorite movie in the entire MCU is always the first avenger, Suttle and simple steve Roger's a kid with so many health problems has a choice to be "THE SOLDIER" just great to me and the same towards Thor 1 he was a over thousands of years old but never knew a day about struggle the second Odin made him Human it was Genuine emotion something that Thor severely Lacks in the comics. Also I prefer Luke Cage, Daredevil and Punisher were awesome. The first 2 seasons of Jessica Jones were okay meanwhile man with the iron fist vastly underrated 💯

Not sure if already pointed out but you mention the scene where we only hear what Echo hears - her heartbeat - before she snaps the guy and we hear silence. I was watching with subtitles and it said “two heartbeats” so it was actually hers and his, overlapping which makes sense why it stops when she kills him.

I binged the whole thing, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. No spoilers, but I was expecting one thing and I got something slightly different. The slight difference helps it fit into the MCU better, and maybe sets up some things, I guess, but the reason I was looking forward to what I was expecting was because we hadn't truly seen it in the MCU yet. Basically, from the Hawkeye baseline, they took it one way while I wanted it to go the other.

The way I see it is the Mcu and netflix stuff is still drastically different than one another. Some feeling that whiplash when they saw daredevil in She hulk, but with Echo they are bridging the styles better and so when we get to daredevil while there will be jokes especially if Foggy comes back, it will be like the netflix show again

No spoilers, but I definitely just binged the whole series and I’m really impressed with the acting, writing & fight choreography. I forgot how much I missed binging the old Daredevil series whenever they would drop on Netflix. I will say though that while I understand that the Marvel Spotlight imprint is supposed to be for more mature content, I did miss the Marvel fanfare appearing at the start of each episode. Great series though! I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

I watched the whole show and I really enjoed it. Vincent D'nofrio's acting as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin was excellent as usual. Alaqua Cox was great as Echo just like she was in Hawkeye.

My favourite parallel that you didn’t mention is when Maya is a kid and her father tells her that she is to focus on school and live a different life than him. Which is what Jack Murdock says to Matt when he says he wants to be a fighter like his father

Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode! and I always appreciate the time and dedication your team puts into these breakdowns! I'm sure you realized this by now, but thats Maya's Grandmother (not aunt). They had mentioned Maya's mother being her daughter multiple times in the episode. Also, (just a download of a thought) could it be possible that beings can be Dimensional without being considered "Alien"(same as the residents of Tao Lao(sp?)). That being said, if we are made from the Earth, even by an extra dimensional alien being, we are still made Of the dirt and clay of the earth, which would mean we are not alien to the planet because we are made of the planets materials and thats like a baby being alien to the mother, so I disagree with the ancient Chocktaw being alien(but this IS based off a comic...sooo who knows). Just my opinion at the end of the day, but hopefully that adds insight or sparks up others electrons to research and look more into the subject. I mean, what do I know, I'm only Human after all.

very grounded very real. Glad to see street level heroes again. i enjoyed how the first half of the episode was bringing us up to speed. Doing a great job of making us care about the character because even though she played a major role in Hawkeye i didn't really have a connection to her. Favorite part is when she is on her first mission and a little shook when the shooting starts but not to sound like a psycho but you can see her have this "release" when she cracks the dude neck like it was almost euphoric for her and then she proceeds to whip everyone's ass in that room. I am also glad they did not have a female character straight up boxing dudes twice her size, her fighting style is very tactful as in (kicking out the opponents feet, using her surroundings or going for weak points on the body etc:) that fake low to high head kick on the security guard that felt her up was solid. I'll admit i am on episode 4 now, going to binge the whole season.

With respect to the opening scene, it reminded me of the "What If...?" episode featuring Kahhori and the underground lake. Perhaps there's a connection? Either in the MCU timeline or just in a Joseph Campbell sense?

It's funny that you mention that Kingpin as "street level Thanos", Ryan. According to the reports, that's actually what Marvel intends to do in those exact words. The ending of the Echo series has Kingpin seeing the news in a call for new mayor of New York who's a fighter and since Kingpin is no stranger to violence, he's the perfect candidate in this setting. The presumed storyline for Daredevil Born Again is Kingpin answering this call to action by becoming the mayor of New York despite his previous criminal indictments and outlawing vigilantes targeting Daredevil and the Defenders, and that storyline was going to be finished off in MCU Spider-Man 4. So, you're on the right track.

3 episodes in, great show. I think where this one succeeds where so many other Marvel and Star Wars shows failed is in part due to the fact that Maya is deaf and so the writers don't/can't(?) saddle her with cheeseball lines and dialogue. She is powerfully efficient in both her actions and her communication. Nothing extra. I remember seeing actor Temuera Morrison complain that he talked too much in the Book of Boba Fett (and I agree). There's the famous story too about Sylvester Stallone's First Blood Rambo movie, where Sly saw the first edits and was like, "this is horrible." And basically took out most of his lines from the movie. This show "says" what needs to be said and there's no, "this is the way" cheesiness.

I think you need to slow down an rewatch Episode 1 again. The older lady(60ish person) is her Grandmother not her Aunt, and the older man who ran the pawn shop was her Grandfather. That was a real easy one to miss. Other than that your breakdown was good. I love how in this series they use some of the history of the Choctaw, Just like in the "What If?" series they used the Mohawk Nation some of their history too.

8:15 the golden ratio, the curve increases at 1.618... (phi), not twice the curve. Phi is derived by dividing one Fibbonacci number by the one before it in the sequence, you get more accurate by using larger numbers in the sequence. The sequence works by taking one number in the sequence, add to the previous, to ge the next. Repeat that to get the next number. Phi is like pi though, it goes on and on. The sequence starts with : 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144... And so on. 1+1=2. 1+2=3... 21+34=55, 34+55=89, and so on.

I shot forward like 200mph and screamed out of excitement as soon as Daredevil landed, it was so unexpected. Like I knew he was gonna show up, but not in ep 1, not like this. This was awesome!!!

This is easily one of my favorite Marvel Disney plus series. I loved the characters, music, and choreography. I enjoy learning about different cultures and do not get the hate. I really want to see Kingpin interacting with other MCU characters.

I'm more into mutants and magic so I did enjoy it but it didn't make me ugly sob and cheer like WandaVision, Loki or What If. But the culturrrrrre ugh how refreshing and rich and beautiful! If I can find a screenshot of the pool I'd love to set it as a wallpaper

I just find it brilliant how they have managed to tell us the story of when she stops being a girl and becomes a killer by performing her first kill. Once that neck snaps, music changes and so does she.

Also worth noting, they mirrored Daredevil in the final scene. The first thing Matt heard after being blinded was the drip of his IV. It's also the first thing Fisk hears when he wakes in his Hospital Room after being blinded.

I was hoping her friend Black Crow was "Jesse Black Crow", the character from the 1980's. He is Henry Black Crow-Lopez though. My mother's maiden name was Black Crow so I was so happy when my cousin found there was a hero named "Black Crow" in Marvel comics.

19:18 This isn't the first time DD used his billy club with cable. Daredevil did use his billy club with cables in the Netflix series. One instance was in The Defenders where he was torturing Sowande (a Hand leader) with the billy club cable to get answers from him.

You mentioned the premier being held at a casino. In the watertower scene the large building you can see in the distance IS that casino in Durant, Oklahoma. The director mentioned it before we played the first episode.

I watched the whole series last night. I planned on only one episode, but it was so good that I kept going. I don't want to spoil anything but I wish they would of expanded and explained the ending better 🤔

The initial Chactaw (or however it is written) scene reminded me of 2 things: 1) The lines that rae present everywhere on Eternals Tech. 2) What If, the Kahhori episode, when they have the blue, tesseract infused water. Now, the Tesseract wasn't in America in the main MCU timeline, as far as we know, but I hope the origin of that water will get further elaborated in the future.
