Good information Artie. I dont trust anybody's 2 stroke fuel. That gas was way over mixed and it could be old also. I would put a new NGK plug in it and a little Seafoam in the fuel and call it a day. Good video and lesson. 👍🇺🇸Roger

Thank you Roger. I should have paid more attention to when the owner said he put his father inlaws gas in. We originally had the machine fixed in part 1 of the series. As long as we fixed it I'm happy. Thanks for watching!!!

I think that the Echo PB-500H needs a new walbro carburetor and Echo Red Armor Fuel to fix it.

At the end of the day you got to the bottom of things and it now works as it should. Also i will now change the fuel in stuff that comes into me. At least you still had a big smile in the last minute.

Good stuff Artie. It’s the little stuff sometimes that can really stump us. I’m sure now with a new carb, plug, and fuel it will be ready to run for a long time.

@@gravelyman it certainly happens. I’m sure I would have done the same. Glad to see it running Artie. I’m sure that one was a headache after all that time.

This 'Echo 2-strok- engine has three intake ports on the cylinder and each port has a designated reed, any one of which if slightly loosing pressure will result in bad performance not easily identified.... Testing all 3 reeds only takes a minute when the carb is off: Use a short piece of 1/2 'hose and draw negative pressure with your mouth through each one of the 1/2" ports, it literally takes a minute to check... There should be ZERO leakage even if a little negative leak it's bad....Check this first and in the repair you'll feel more confident.. Also this 'Echo carburetor is old school with both high and low speed needle valve adjustments for that smooth transition in between High/ low rpm's. Doing these two things is a great foundation for a good diagnoses

Great video! Amazing what the right fuel mixture will do. I absolutely refuse to use any ethanol gas in my small gas engines whether it’s a 2 stroke or 4 stroke. The only thing I use is straight premium 91 unleaded and I don’t have any problems.

Thank you. The problem here is that ethanol free gas is unavailable here. Thanks for watching!!!

These echo backpack blowers has given echo a reputation of not being reliable with the guys I know that has bought them. Home Depot had the pb580t for $399. Worst piece of equipment I’ve own in 30 years. It ran ok the first month or so . After that it’s been nothing but I can’t even say how many coils that’s been replaced. Which echo has a lifetime warranty on the coils . Last time it was in the shop it had compression issues and had to replace the cylinder and piston. Lasted less than 2 weeks . My stihl 550 is 10 years old without 1 issue. I’ve got 4 echo weed eaters and never much of any problems out of them . If I was a manager in echo corporation I’d drop the backpack products all together

How's she goin'? This was interesting. The after market carbs are hit and miss for sure I find, but for the most part I think they're decent. One of the things I find about 2 strokes is that many things can contribute to the failure. In this case it could have been carb issues as well as poor fuel. You did a nice job sticking with this till you got it going though. Take care!!!

Ok, let’s have another look at this Arty, typing as I watch. Nice box of bits, what the hell is this? are you kidding me 🤣🤣 not a great start. T-Bone getting a thankyou, nice one. Hope I get a mention 🤣🤣 I have put alot of time into this blower.. Brand new plug, nice. Oh here we go, T-Bone this, T-Bone that 🤣🤣. Oh ken got a mention too, maybe I’m next. T-Bone mentioned again 🙄. Who’s Patrick? never heard of him. T-Bone mentioned again!! I’m fast going off him. If you mention @Rusty Rooster I’m switching off. 🙄 T-Bone mentioned again, I’m unsubscribing from him now and giving him a thumbs down. Leave those 2 screws alone, I knew that, I bet T-Bone told you to take them out 🤣🤣. Make your mind up Arty, tipped up or not 🤣🤣. looks fiddly with that carb gasket. That carb and gasket would be in my next door neighbour’s garden by now, no patience. Great video Arty lesson learned
