It would be great, though George Lucas, before he sold Lucasfilm, was in early preparations for his sequels. They were going to be about Maul returning with an apprentice and rebuilding his crime empire to destroy the rebuilding Republic. The empire in George's mind was destroyed entirely in galactic civil war, without a truce, so no empirial remnant unfortunately. @@danielhales8169 Operation Shadow hand from dark empire although still one of the worst written threads of galactic civil war makes much more sense than Exegol. The biggest issues with DE that I have are: A) they became unrealisticly strong in a very short time, B) Palpatine has endless supplies of clones. That's the one thing they did better in disney canon, where Palpatine had just one clone that was able to be controleld. But overall, old canon verion is more logical than new canon. The latter presents a fleat of thousands of star destroyers each capable of blowing off a damn planet! And despite having it, old idiot Palpatine dicided that he should use remnants of the old empire not for the purpose of his final order but to create a separate faction that will destroy the new republic. Becouse why not....In Legends it is shown that Palpatine had to strugle with reunifying the empire. The only reason he converted the empire into dark empire is becouse he knew he can't trust warlords some of whom propably don't rven belive that it's the real emperor. He had to controll everything on his own, with the dark side itself. And the universe spanning magocracy thing, it was what was meant to be the ultimate form of the empire but after endor those plans were unreachible. some video ideas/areas I would like more information on: - more details about the earliest and latest points of history in the star wars galaxy known to us - a one video complete summary of the yuuzan vong invasion and their defeat (seen so many snippets but never a whole video depicting everything) - outlines of the people who helped build the universe in big ways, for example Timothy Zahn - eck's personal favorite characters throughout the star wars timeline

I knew about many of the conflicts Post-Endor in Legends, but not to this extent. It just seemed like one war after another and you begin to wonder if it would ever end. I do like parts of it though, such as the Fel Empire. It almost feels very convoluted, and I wish it was somewhat more straightforward, so many factions and divisions, I could never fully get my head around all that went down after Endor. This was a great video though, your hard work was worth it :)

For me the Yuuzhan Vong was my favorite it took SW to dark territories aside from the suffering caused by the deaths of over 300 trillion lifeforms, you had courageous but tragic sacrifices from Chewbacca and Anakin Solo, events that would create 2 Sith Lords whom fall from grace that would cause devastation to the Galaxy Darth Caedus and Darth Krayt sentenced to Yuuzhan Vong torture really awesome Lore too!! I also like the One Sith Empire against the Galactic Alliance war too!!
@user-ig4dl4iv1j2 жыл бұрын
Yuuzhan Vong have a soft spot in my heart but they I feel like they ruin the optimism, fantasy metaphysics, and Campbellian mythos of Star Wars and just turn it into a generic gritty hard sci fi drama. (Still a better idea than what Disney pulled out of their asses)
@raaaaaaaaaam4962 жыл бұрын
@@user-ig4dl4iv1j ehhh I disagree. I just think maybe towards the end it should have gotten a happier ending. We shouldn’t lose every character we love to win a war we don’t care nearly as much about as something like the empire.
@user-ig4dl4iv1j2 жыл бұрын
@@raaaaaaaaaam496 entities from the edges of or outside the galaxy have always been part of star wars lore but I didn't like that the yv were immune to the force. It makes the force seem less like George Lucas's weird Taoist belief system and part of the Arthurian fantasy themes of the story and more just like the force is some radio signal that only exists in that one galaxy. I think its a way bigger offender than the midichlorians in this regard.

Can you do a series where you go more in depth in some of the bigger wars? Like thrawn campaign, yuuzhan vong war, legacy of the force, and fate of the jedi? Talking about who did what, who died and how, etc. You mention anakin, chewie, jaina, jacen, and mara jade at times however nobody who hasn't read those will have no idea how they died and nobody will know who the new characters are except that they are solo and could be confused. (especially since canon had leia and han breaking up)

I'm with you. I would actually prefer if the titles were switched, because it seems to me that modern canon is really good at telling emotional and meaningful stories, but doesn't do nearly as well at worldbuilding and logical consistency as the old canon (except when it comes to mystical force-stuff, which is equally confusing and contradictory in both), but all in all I think they are both very good at what they do and I like that they can both exist side-by-side.
