Thank you Great help. Also wanted you to know that you can pop out that blue insert that you raised up 5mm by prying on the other two sides once you raise it 5 mms. This way you can use a jeweler's screwdriver to release the clamps. Will save the $60+ dollars for the . tool. I don't plan on doing this again

GM weatherpack terminals will release with a small paper clip as well did it for years as a GM dealership line tech
@DougBugBuilder5 жыл бұрын
I suppose that might work on this if it's a really small paper clip. The wire on this tool is so thin it's almost like a needle. And at that it's a snug fit. But if that works it's a great tip! Thanks.

this is very informative. how would you know if you had a loose connection to where the pin on the ecm is not fitting snug into the female hole that the wire is crimped onto?
@DougBugBuilder3 жыл бұрын
That would be really hard to tell. But first make sure all the pins out of the ECM are perfectly straight. Then inspect the plug. I would then replace any connectors that You thought you were having issues with just to be sure. You can't really test those connections with a meter as they go into the ECM. So you'll need to basically do it visually. If you have HP Tuners it would help to connect and read data then wiggle the plug around to see if any sensors go in or out.

Good tip . great video demo . wires are the hardest part of the build for Me I want to change my 2332cc VW motor . I like the eco Chevy 200 hp that you went with . but the Honda V 6 has 300 hp . what do you Think.?
@DougBugBuilder5 жыл бұрын
The Ecotec is a great motor and it scoots along nice! But it you want wheel spinning torque go with the V6 Honda. But you'll need a good transaxle to back it up!

My problem is my 1,3,5 plugs are firing my 2,4,6, is not im.thinking it's my ecu bc I changed the plugs and coils my code reader say that the 2 4 6 is misfiring. I took out one of my plugs and coil put it up against metal there was no spark I looked at so many videos on it. But there wasn't too much on it. So I came across yours im.hoping that's the problem I'm having. I've got a 2008 saturn outlook came you give me some pointers on what to try (thank you)
@DougBugBuilder Жыл бұрын
First thing I would check is that those coils are getting voltage. If they are then I would trace down the signal wire and make sure it is connected to the correct pin on the ECU.
@patsuddarth1093 Жыл бұрын
Hello Sir, what size terminal pin did you use for that wire? 1.5, 1.7, or 2.4?

Not sure I understand the question. Do you mean on the terminal I used, or the tool?

@@DougBugBuilder, those ECU connector pins has a measurement spacing. The brand that wasn't Molex, had those measurements. I was trying to order the right ones on Amazon. But, I recall you left a little list of items ya ordered off Amazon. So, I ordered the molex MX64 series 33467.

@@patsuddarth1093 Ok, looks like Amazon doesn't offer them anymore. If you email me at dougbugbuilder@gmail.com and I'll send you a parts list I have of the connectors and pins. That might help you out.

Hello Ed, About half way through this video I go over some of the sending unit/fuel pump installation. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmbXf4Bug9Z1jcU I ran two units for backup. If one fails on the trail I would need to swap the fuel line and the electrical plug. Then I should be back on my way. Any questions beyond that let me know.

@DougBugBuilder3 жыл бұрын
What wire are you using for a tach? I've never been able to find that out.
@ruthlesschoy3 жыл бұрын
@@DougBugBuilder from what I've found out from wiring diagrams, and from talking to others on forums, it's terminals 24&25 on connector c1 (from factory they are not used and a plug is in the termination slot). Terminate and Splice both together, then T off your splice to the tach signal wire. Another forum user I talked to said it worked for his setup (06-07 e67 ECM)
@DougBugBuilder3 жыл бұрын
@@ruthlesschoy So take 24 and 25 and splice them together and run it to the tach as a signal wire. Interesting? Please let me know if it works so I can give it a go. Thanks. Mine is the E67 so I'm really interested to see if it works.
@ruthlesschoy3 жыл бұрын
@@DougBugBuilder yeah signal being your ingition coil wire or ignitor wire to the tach. I'll send ya a message or reply here and let ya know once I do it!
@ruthlesschoy3 жыл бұрын
@@DougBugBuilder I can confirm it works. Terminal 25 is tach signal but doesn't work without a pull up resistor, just so happens that terminal 24 is a resistor, so I spliced both and ran it to tach and it works! Just needs to be dialed in with hp tuner

That tool looks great - but....at $70.00 for the tool, isn't there a less expensive tool available? Is there any way you could reveal what the outside diameter is for this tool is and is it a hollow tube solid? I have lots of terminal release tools, but without knowing what size this Molex tool is or if it is solid round, or a round tube - (or some other shape), I don't know if I have the proper size. If you could share the measurement and whether this Molex tool is solid, or round tube, that would be great!
@DougBugBuilder2 жыл бұрын
The tool is solid and it is .026" in diameter. If you found a very small drill bit that size it should work too.
