Thanks for talking about climate change!! I'd love to see more episodes on this - topics like degrowth/climate change and economics, travel and sustainability/emissions, climate anxiety/eco grief, planetary boundaries.

It's pretty idealistic to think that the land saved if everyone went vegan would be used to good ends. Especially not if it's not all owned or controlled by the same person, and we do not want that.

Cars, factories, and air conditioning = the largest carbon footprint. But how many of you are willing to walk, live without factory-made things, and move somewhere cooler? I have been plant based for 17 years and my health has never been better. I still have to walk by smokers on the street and breathe in other people’s perfumes and car fumes as I walk from place to place. Going vegan is the least we can do. Giving up perfumes, hair dye, package deliveries, consumption…

Wonder why no one ever mentions private jets, commercial planes and rockets. The massive carbon footprints these leave are millions times more than everyday cars. Private jets are being used by the owners daily now, up 23% since 2020, and one 2 hour trip in a private jet is like running 10 million cars for the same 2 hour trip. Look it up. Plus there's thousands of military jets. Commercial planes use a little less, but not that much ,as they run constantly. Then of course rockets are 10 times what jets put out. Plus rockets are much worse because their prints are left in our stratosphere which each release 1000 tons of soot, and particles contains carbon dioxide, black carbon, alumnia, reactive chloride, and nitrous oxide, known to destroy Ozone. And 180 rockets were sent up last year, and it's rapidly increasing. Technology and those wanting to push and push it, wanting to add more satalites out into our already crowded and junk filled space, is killing our Ozone. If they would all stop with their greed, the Ozone would heal its self by 2043. But I don't see it happening ,as they can never seem to get enough. So ,I just see the poor planet being destroyed and burned up.

What do you think about the process of making cultivated meat? It seems to me the "immortalized" cells they use have many attributes of cancerous cells. I don't know if we know what consuming large amounts of that type of organic material does to the body. And then the amounts of antibiotics it would take to keep cells alive that have no immune system to protect them is another thing that is concerning to me.

Cultivated meat will contribute to the formation of cancer no more than normal meat does, it's the same processes at work. Minus the bacteria that come from stuff like feces, lab grown meat won't have that.

You can recognize which farmers use the bad grass, nothing else will grow in between, no no dandelions or anything, just a green industrial lot.

I think sooner that vegans turn away from eating almond for environmental reasons than omnivores.

We have to innerstand that other living beings are not food. I know this was not at all the perspective of the conversation and this angle has to be discussed. However, for me it's difficult to listen to (even though I will) this because living beings are spoken about as if they are objects.

Nah mate, think if you're growing crops locally, which is the best method, in poor crop years flood or drought animals are the buffer that allows you to keep eating

Why interrupt a podcast to talk about osea? You should’ve just continue talking and then say we’re gonna have a short break and then talk about whatever you want to sponsor, but not in the middle of talking.

Labgrown is the same meat, you're just missing the extra bacteria that come from feces and other things that labgrown won't have. Other than that, same fat, same protein etc.
