Political views can greatly influence how people perceive the economy, even though they experience the same events. Thanks for sharing, Lane! - Lipika - Team Evan Carmichael

I whole heartedly agree with the solution you mention. ❤ "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

I have been an investor since the Clinton years and can confidently say that my totals have depended more on natural and man-made disasters than on who ran the government during that stretch. In fact my highs during the Biden years most recently matched those during the Trump years. As you said, the divide between Democrats and Republicans is largely a matter of perception than actual economic reality. I'd also add that in our country sometimes one president is the beneficiary or the victim of the previous president and the demarcation lines are not as clear as we see in the perception graphic. Thanks for the analysis Lane, insightful and patriotic as usual.

Prayer is an expression of faith while actions are of beliefs. There are two sides, God's side and the other side, and that is the divide. We live in the present, learn from the past, and plan for the future. We are thankful, grateful, and blessed.

North Korea was mentioned with a significant contrast compared with South Korea. The first one is a dictatorship and the second one a prosperous democracy just like the US and even better in some aspects. So I conclude that having a candidate who will be autocratic wouldn’t be a good choice. Having a country with no checks and balances cancels the benefit of the economy completely.

It is compelling to see the vast difference between north and South Korea. Hard to believe that Chinese and Russian rulers think North is better. Thank you for the great insights!

The Russian and Chinese leaders think communism is better for them. You can vote your way into communism, but you will have to bleed your way out.

Interesting variation on the usual financial stream. Enjoyed. Freedom under a transparently ruling letter of the law is the key.

Leadership. We need leadership, from the top down, to condemn divisiveness and hatred. No political leader has ever, ever spoken like trump before. And no other leaders, such as religious leaders, have stayed so quiet about it.

The nighttime map of North and South Korea is incredibly striking to me, for some reason. Seeing almost the entirety of North Korea in total darkness (both figuratively and literally) really makes one realize how bad things * can * be.

The best formula for America has aways been less regulation and reducing government taxes.

I think that prayer is a fine idea, but I also feel like a lot of damage has been done here in the name of God based on what some people have interpreted. That’s not what God wants for us. So Praying is good to settle your own mind, but not to legislate to others with different belief systems what they should do with their lives.

Spot on. You are the only comment that makes sense so far. We are a laico nation where religion is separated from state just like our founding fathers father meant to be. And we have freedom not only to have the right to any religion (not only Christian) but also have no religion at all.

Lane, I think your final comments were the most telling. The further and faster the American people move away from submitting ourselves to the lordship of God, the further and faster the US will begin to look like North Korea.

All that I know is I retired July 2016 with $700.K in my 401K and at the end of Trumps 4 years I had 1.2M in my rollover IRA and I did not add a dime. Hoping for the same the next 4 years. MAGA!

Google a US stock market chart for the last 10 years. The market has done exponentially better in the last 4years than it ever did from 2016 to 2020.
