A while back I asked you guys to share your stories of losing Geo, and after being delayed several times I finally got what was supposed to be the 200th video out. I present to you: How To Not Lose All your Geo in Hollow Knight. Thanks for sharing your stories!

i lost a comparatively tame 1.6k. i fell into deepnest from the entrance next to the moss prophet’s temple thingy and got lost trying to find a way out, dying in the process. i respawned on the mantis village bench, and i foolishly decided to retrieve my shade using the mantis lords entrance, despite a) it being on the other side of the map and b) i didnt have lantern (i was saving up for lantern, in fact). anyway, i ended up grinding the husk guard in crossroads for about 15 minutes to get back the money i lost, and then for another few minutes to get the extra geo i needed for lantern. i still remember how salty i was when it happened, especially since i realized almost immediately after that i could’ve just quit out as soon as i fell in deepnest lmao

Funny enough I never lost a whole lot of geo during my casual playthrough, the most being like 300 in total in small increments. I did however, long after I was well experienced in this game, loose thousands during a rando. It was a cursed start (no focus or directional slashes) and I wanted to get the guarded grub check, which killed me. I forgot to bench in dirtmouth, respawned at the mound, then proceeded to die to the other husk guard lol

9:20 I've got nearly 200 hours on HK, I've gotten every achievement on the steam list, 112% steel soul run, beaten every boss on radiant difficultly in the hall of God's And I don't remember that place, all I could tell you is that it's in deep basin but where I have no idea (Probably a hidden wall near the other mawlurks, or by the fountain... actually it might be that room with two mawleks on either side, and the shade spawns in it if you die, but I'm pretty sure that gives ore)

Reminds me of my experience where I lost 8k geo at the smasher obstacle course in Crystal peaks was at 1 hp and at the very last smasher and my joycon disconnected messing me up and then I died trying to get that shade back

I was doing a room/item rando, came across the mantis lords fight before having claw or access to the upper half of the room and died- the issue being that your shade spawns above the lords, where I couldn't reach. I only had about 1900 geo, but I was still pretty early in the run, and since I'd set cornifer and the stags to not show what they were selling, geo was generally pretty tight. I thought to myself, "hey, I'll just make sure not to die again and I'll retrieve my shade once I get claw!" I got pretty far with half a soul gauge, but queen's gardens and those damn flying mantises finally got me. turns out claw was locked behind the mantis lords fight so, y'know, that was fun (it was behind the transition in the locked door in deepnest)

I remeber losing 4k quite early on in crystal peak to the crystal crawlers after dying on crystal guardian

This can be useful to all those who have only 2 masks and they hit us and then they finish us off with the spikes, acid that is below and yes, it happened to me very often when I started the game for the first time and I lost a lot of geo (T^T)

Oh god 4 times I was try to get the Luma fly lamp and I lost 1825 the 1st time by the little thing that Flys in the greenpath

Around 50K when fucking about in fog canyon. I think i was trying to learn some skip on a completed save and didnt notice i was on 1HP, then died to jellyfish on the way back. I had been doing colo 3 for fun to get that much geo. IDK how i died even tho i could do colo 3 a whole bunch

Colo 3 is actually pretty fun, and is the reason I have around 50k geo, granted I was practicing it to make sure I could do it steel soul without combat logging (and I'm happy to say I've gotten 112% without combat logging once)

Once, i was trying to defeat Broken Vessel, but when i died, i was so furious 'bout losing that i used the "super dash", and i past my shadow :), with 6 million, and something of GEO. I died by the B.V. and lost all that Geo. If you read all the comment, thanks for listening me

I don't think I've ever lost more than 2k geo, I'm now in the 4th Pantheon of Godseeker with everything complete except Grey Prince Zote level 6 and over
