The current issues hail back from how the Obama government handled the situation then. It was a liquidity issue in 2008, but now they blew it up into a global depression. I am hearing from many sides that the US economy is still doing fine and that no crash is imminent, but nobody wants to explain how they take into account the economic desasters outside the US that will make US exports collapse and that will make foreign US stock holders liquidate their positions. I'm betting on a black swan in the second half of 2025.

Inequality has always existed and is probably a good thing overall! Do you want to be equal to everyone else? How about people on their death bed, do you want equal outcomes with them? It can be arranged! When you say equality you only mean equal outcomes. For equal outcomes you need equal inputs as also. Do you really want that? Use your imagination - there are many, many people you do not want to be equal to!
@fleecejohnsonn3 күн бұрын
@@MartyH99 Some inequality is a natural and good process, for purposes of competition in not only the economy but genetics itself. However when the inequality becomes extreme then the obvious consequence of that is instability which is good for nothing except accelerationism.

Invest judiciously, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target, I recommend a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run.

There should have been a proper crash in 2020 - instead they pumped so much money in the dip that it was back to above pre-mini crash inside 4 months. I'd be more wary of holding cash as their track record says they will do the same again (ie print money) at any sign of weakness. Just spread it around all asset classes.

The uk as American needs a distribution in wealth for a stable society, politically at least. When offered to the electorate by the present government in the UK, firstly, there's no patience or want to understand that the past 14 years of austerity can not be undone in less than 6 months. That the levers of power are not rigid with instant response but some what looser caused by debt to GDP. Keeping our creditors happy, we all saw what happened with Liz Trust. Globalisation that the government can ease on the nation but can't stop, the days of Churchill and rolling spite fires in the sky have gone. Why do I think this, look at resent polling of the government the rise in Reform that's not even a party but a company with 15 shares 9 held by Farage, 60% owner so can't be deposed. It's the economy stupid. Wake up it's later than you think.

You should know the inflation never falls, it is always increasing, only the rate of increase changes speed. So now you know this perhaps you can adjust your graphs, and not think it's so wonderful when the rate slows down just after a mega speeding up of it!
@JohnBeeblebrox3 күн бұрын
Deflation IS a thing. e.g. Japan throughout much of the 2000s and into the 2010s, Greece experienced deflation in the aftermath of its economic crisis. In the years following the 2008 global financial crisis and even Switzerland has occasionally experienced deflation, with negative inflation rates reported in some years.
@jasf17283 күн бұрын
@JohnBeeblebrox deflation is a thing yes, however slower inflation is not deflation.

Stagnation is essentially deflation
@JohnBeeblebrox3 күн бұрын
@@Solihul886 Not quite. Stagnation and deflation are related but distinct economic phenomena. Stagnation refers to a period where economic growth is slow or non-existent, often characterized by high unemployment, low consumer spending, and lack of business investment. Deflation, on the other hand, is a decrease in the general price level of goods and services, where the inflation rate falls below zero. While stagnation can lead to deflation, they aren't synonymous. In a stagnant economy, prices might not necessarily fall; they could just remain flat or grow very slowly. However, prolonged stagnation can eventually cause deflation if demand continues to drop. When consumers expect prices to fall further, they delay purchases, which reduces demand even more, creating a vicious cycle where businesses cut prices to stimulate sales, leading to deflation.
