ECOWAS is concerned about some elected job of one man, to the point of threatening war... but has had no vibrate concern about the poverty and enslavement of the people of Niger. The USA's proxy war in Ukraine against Russia is failing, China and the BRICS are succeeding, the petrodollar is losing ground, Germany is deindustrializing, the UK is slipping in to recession and cracks in NATO are beginning to show. Ahi ahi ahi... It is curious how the West applauded the coup against Yanukovych but instead condemns the one against Barzoum, clearly wanted by the people there too, judging by the angry popular demonstration of Nigeriens in front of the French embassy. This attitude of judging by expediency is called a *double standard* and is why, rightly so, non-Western nations make fun of the US and Europe.

So capitulating to the Russian influence in the region and abandoning democracy is better than the current system? That seems hardly a good solution even if you disagree with how the europeans have influenced the region. This just feels like instability propped up to destablize west Africa and the European influence there by Wagner. Yanukovych was a popular uprising, not a literal military coup. My guess is ECOWAS countries are worried about similar coup plots in their own countries after the series of coups in the inner sahel with Mali burkina faso and Niger.

The West should stay away from Africa issues. Nigeria can't afford to escalate the terrorism already raging by going into war with the closest neighbor whose border is the major buffer zone of the crises. What happened in Niger wasn't different from what happened in Nigeria by 25th February,2023! This date was when political coup happened in Nigeria. The West didn't stop Tinubu but wants to legitimize him by using him to cause disaffection between Nigeria and fellow Africans!

It's amazing to become spontaneous and strong to choke an African nation in these situations but not willing to have the same energy combating terrorists
