No duh! There have always been nutcases throughout all of history. Serial killing was on a significant rise beginning in the 50s but even way more prominent from 70s to 2000. Yup. That is his own house at 0:08. I can't link to it but Getty has an image of the rear of his house (not the angle one normally sees) which has an overhang (can't think of the technical term) with the same beams. So he was showing them evidence. He wasn't at his home at the time of the arrest.

He definitely doesn't have the demeanour of someone who is legally insane. He's too upright, calm and chilled for someone who is being arrested and responsible for those types of crimes. Like all serial killers, I guess this is how they get away with it, they are generally good at tricking and manipulating people in to thinking they are well adjusted and healthy functioning. The traits of being a Psychopath.
@hannahlyle57755 жыл бұрын
Criminals who are deemed Legally Insane actually do have this demeanor, because they are unaware of the extremity of the crime or crimes that they have committed, therefore don't show much emotion of what they did. Guilty by reason of insanity is a legal term that addresses the person's state of mind at the time the crime was committed. Ed knew what he had done, but wasn't able to understand right from wrong due to severe mental illness and being in a state of psychosis after his mother's death. He definitely does have some traits of being a psychopath though.
