Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba.

So, my Dad surprised me with the cassette tape of the stand up routine that also contained that song. I listened to that tape so much, almost wore it out. Then, one day, Mom & Dad decided they wanted to hear his routine too. Lol That was the last of my tape (it had some raunchy sexual jokes that freaked them out because I heard them). Another person being exceptional in a moment has no bearing on you or if you aren’t exceptional. You may not be famous, but if we were to ask the right person (people) from your life they would have a story about you that made their day or eased their pain; but you not being famous is why these people aren’t telling their stories about you on KZbin. Also, even people who are constantly talked about for their interesting and insightful interactions still have interactions with people where they were none of the above; I have had interactions with a few famous people because of where I’ve worked, and when I met Keanu he was essentially a bump on a log along for the ride, and he is constantly talked about for his interactions with people who aren’t famous. They’re humans, you’re human; just be you and don’t beat yourself up because nobody on KZbin is talking about the time they met you or you talked them off the ledge, that doesn’t happen every day……

The pressure of “always being funny”, always being up. Always bringing the life the party. That really hurt his mental health. He talked about it a few times in interviews and in his books. People expected him to bring the energy. That always made me sad, because who was there to bring Robin some energy? Who was working and thinking and giving effort to make him laugh? People treated him like a human battery, always commenting how much he gave to them to make them happy. How about all the stories where people brought that same energy to him?

I used to work at Rockefeller Center in NYC. One day I went out to do some work on one of the setbacks of what used to be called the International Building, on 5th avenue. The setbacks there were popular filming locations, as they were off limits to the public and rather scenic as they are directly across the street from St. Patrick’s cathedral. Lo and behold, there was Steve Martin on the setback apparently scoping it out for a scene in one of his films (I believe it was the movie “All of Me”). Recognizing him I said “good afternoon Mr. Martin, what are you doing up here?” Like Ed’s mother in law, I expected a comedic answer. However, he was very straightforward and businesslike and gave me a quick rundown of what he was doing and looking at and why. He was very polite, but straightforward and serious, far from the “wild and crazy guy” we all had come to know.
