So it’s interesting how you talked about the staff being alerted or something, because in the book, there is an epic battle with the guards and the staff and some of the students while all this happened in the tower, but the directors didn’t wanna have to battles filmed back to back so they toned down this moment. Also, your reaction to Snape killing Dumbledore legit had me emotional to see you in shock.

Now that the Ministry is no longer denying Voldemort's return, the death Eaters aren't pulling their punches anymore. It's now officially open war and they are out to wreak havoc.

*Professor Dumbledore's death was one of the most traumatic for Harry to witness. Right alongside his parents' murder at the hands of Voldemort when he was 15 months old, Cedric Diggory at the ratty (pun fully intended) hands of Wormtail during the last task of the Triwizard Tournament in that graveyard, and Sirius dying at the hands of his psychotic cousin Bellatrix Lestrange before he disappeared into the Veil in the Ministry Of Magic. Also, this is one of the few times Ron is shown to be intelligent in the movies. The scene on the Hogwarts Express where he's explaining the Unbreakable Vow to Harry, specifically. The wizard's chess scenes from Philosopher's Stone is another. I think another good example is the good questions he was asking in Chamber Of Secrets when Harry found that crumpled up book page in Hermione's hand.*

The film skips Voldemort’s whole origin, his witch mother (who was a descendant of Salazar Slytherin) fell in love with a handsome, rich muggle Tom Riddle Sr. that she drugged him with a love potion to marry and impregnate her. She hoped that he’d had fully for her for real so she stopped giving the potion but he runs off instead. His mother eventually dies in childbirth at an orphanage and named Voldemort after his father. However, Voldemort hates how ordinary his real name was, hated that his father was a muggle, killed him and took his mansion. He also hated his mother for falling for a muggle. Because of the nature of his birth, Voldemort cannot grasp the concept of true, genuine love. Instead just takes and manipulates those around him to get what he wants, his original handsome looks he got from his father also helped him be very persuasive.

I saw a reactor not long ago who put out a theory that honestly is kind of brilliant. Your perspective changes as you grow up - what was once large and threatening as a child, isn't quite so scary as a teen - for instance with Arragog...it's smaller in this movie because one, spiders shrivel up when they die, but also it looks smaller now to Harry because he's grown past those kinds of fears. His standing up for himself in Prisoner of Azkaban against his family's abuse is about Harry seeing them more in a fumbling silly way whereas when he was younger, he was easily cowed by his family so they seemed more threatening.

Snape’s mother maiden name was Prince, hence the title. Although, I think the film left out a lot of the plot details that leads to the reveal of Snape.

Bellatrix and her gang torching the house wasn’t in the book, it added nothing to the villains plans, it was probably just there to give her more screen time.

I think it was used as a device to light up the scene a bit. It would've been a bit dark otherwise. That's just my mental explanation for it lol.
@70RY4 сағат бұрын
The movies dont press too hard on the very dark things. Hence the lack of flashy wizards. This is the conclusion of a long war. Think about it, Harry's parents are gone. They were not the only victims.

I wish they didn't cut the battle from the book out, but i guess they didn't have time to add it, would have been cool though, maybe it will be in the HBO Show.

The issue with this adaptation is they put too many unnecessary romance plots. Like Harry and the waitress wasn’t in the book and it makes no sense if he likes Ginny while asking another girl out. Also the scene where Ginny ties his shoe was weird. Even Dumbledore questioning Harry about wasn’t in the book.

Yeah, Ginny only went to the ball with Neville because they were just allowing 4th years and up to attend. Younger students could only come if they were there with an older student. Neville asked Ginny after Hermione said no to him, and Ginny agreed because she thought it was her only chance to go 😅 She actually started chatting with another boy named Michael Corner (Ravenclaw) during the ball, so I’m assuming she bailed on Neville at some point too. Sheesh! Ginny was dating Michael during Order of the Phoenix, but she broke up with him before the end of the year because he was hating on Gryffindor beating Ravenclaw in Quidditch. Michael ended up dating Cho instead. They were on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team together so 🤷🏻♀️ Then Ginny started dating Dean sometime before they left Hogwarts for the summer.

Why you pressuring Dumbledore like that? Essentially he retired and became headmaster. Let the younger generations handle the things. The third hokage got to retire and he was half Dumbledores age. Keep the same energy.
