Glad to see these still running and Edaville still alive and kicking. Many fond memories both as a kid and later with my kids there. Wonder if the folks in the houses around there know how lucky they are to hear the distant whistle of a genuine steam engine ....

Monson #3 has been very well traveled for an engine built for a 6 mile line and never intended to leave. She's run at: Monson Edaville Freedomland (the Bronx) Maine Narrow Gauge in Portland Bedford Depot in Massachusetts Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes (Phillips and Strong) Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington I even heard some story that she went to California once, but I have no details. She's done pretty well for a machine that was rescued from a junkyard 75 years ago!

Nice work. Went down on Sunday. Love the B&M 6 chime on 11. Monson 3 is sporting a CNR 5 chime.

I've ridden in that caboose looking at the Christmas lights w/ my grandparents, parents, girlfriend (now wife), and our daughter over ~55 years... This place is a treasure.

Awesome train 🚆 video. I saw and rode this Edaville Railroad over 40 years ago. My great uncle Eddie was a train engineer for a while after he retired from New Haven Railroad.😊😊

Hopefully Edaville receives new owners soon. I visited in 2017 and it'd be a real shame if it shut down again.

I agree with you, Ben, I loved Edaville as it was the first tourist railroad I visited as a little youngling.

I don't get it. I read where the whole rail line was moved to coastal Maine, Yarmouth maybe, for their new home. Did that happen? I recall the whole kit and kaboodle coming up I-95 on pre-1930 commercial trucks.

Yes, but it was Portland. On 12 May 2008 I got some photos of what had arrived there, mostly some delightful freight cars and a diesel loco or two. Even met the woman at the head of the enterprise that, it was announced, was just beginning to acquire Edaville. Reason I was in Portland was that year's annual meeting of Train Riders Northeast, so maybe someone there can fill us in on what happened. This video is the first I've heard that it all evidently fell through. Glad Edaville managed to hang on in South Carver. Sorry to be so long-winded!

@@michaelleighton6879 There's a You Tube video of the convoy coming through NH. Fascinating to see huge chain-drive trucks performing flawlessly.
