If any one musician was wasted by dying to soon it was definitely Eddie. Imagine what he could've done if he was only to live as long as Elvis Presley. He was very talented and it's just not fair that he had to go. Some things aren't meant to be.

Jerry was my dad's cousin. He was a very nice man. We visited him at his home in Missouri. He is gone now, too.

Hey -- I wrote this! The audio is lifted from the 52-hour "History of Rock 'n' Roll" which I wrote and co-produced in 1978. I also conducted the interview with the now late Jerry Capehart, who also write "Turn Around, Look At Me." You should hear Capehart's comments that DIDN'T make the show. The narrator heard here is Bill Drake. -- Gary Theroux

@AjaxEddiefan I think you will find Eddie was going to be on that tour,he was pulled off at the last minute I suppose that was what Jerry was getting, could it be possible that he would have flown with Buddy as they were such good friends. Just a thought. Read the book dont forget me by Darrel Higham andJulie Munday. Also Sharon Sheeley mentions the fact that Eddie was pulled off that show in the BBC prog Three Steps to Heaven

Hi, I recall being glued to the radio when this series aired. Was the original voice/narration heard in Canada, or was another voice dubbed in to satisfy content rules? In any case, an extremely well written and presented series, essential listening for anyone too young to have been there. Cheers
