Jordan was more than stats and trophies, he was transcendent, a clutch athlete of near unbreakable proportions. He left for two years and came back like he was never away. Even his Washington years as an individual player, as his 40s dawned, were better than they're given credit for. Even people outside the States know basketball is 'that game Michael Jordan plays'.
