Eddie is far from a one hit wonder. Huge rabbit hole of music. He opened up a outdoor music venue here in Michigan, called Pine Knob, every Memorial Day weekend for 28 straight years. ❤

Eddie Money played me a personal concert in my back yard for 7 years and never knew it. He used to play a place called Vernon Downs for "Fireworks over Central NY" every summer for a long time. I lived a half mile from the horse track. I would go in my back yard put out a lounge chair and watch the fireworks and I could CLEARLY hear his music coming from the track. I'd like to go back to those times... This song hits so much harder the older I get. Rest in peace, Eddie. Thank you for the music.

Eddie Money was a hit making machine from the late 70's through the mid 80's. Gimme Some Water is my favorite of his. He had bigger hits than that, such as Baby Hold On, Two Tickets To Paradise, Shakin', I Think I'm In Love, and Take Me Home Tonight. All of these songs are worth a listen.

My favorite Eddie Money song. He was a cop because his family were all cops! Towards the end of his life he formed a band with his kids and also was on TV

During my first year in the village, I knew someone with everything Eddie had done on cassette tape. He would loan me a tape to listen to during work and come over the next evening with a different tape for the next day. That was my introduction to Eddie Money. RIP Eddie, and RIP Michael. I hope that wherever you are, things are the way Stephen wrote, saying, if there's a heaven, "You Know They Got a Hell Of a Band."

Nice selection, Robert- I remember this one! I saw Money open for .38 Special back in '88. He had a nice run in the 80's and cranked out quite a few hits. He put on a good show, too. Great reaction, Harri -- rest in peace, Mr. Money.

This song got even more emotional for me after Eddie passed in September 2019. I remember hearing about it on the radio and thinking to myself damn I’m getting old. Eddie was part of my 80s experience. No doubt about it ❤😢. He is missed for sure.

Thanks Harri. Eddie Money had a bunch of great songs. His dad was a cop and wanted him to be a cop. I think he joined the force for a while, but had to chase his dreams. The song you mentioned "Take Me Home Tonight" is a banger. So are "Two Tickets To Paradise", "Shakin", "Baby Hold On To Me" and "I Think I'm In Love".

Thanks for doing this song. One of his lesser known hits but I'd argue the deepest lyrics of any that get to your emotions. Plus the wall of sound production has nuts for lack of a better term. Love seeing your take on music.

Harri Eddie had a lot of hits but he also had many tremendous songs that were not released to radio because you can’t release them all to radio. Check out some deep dives like Lookin Through The Eyes of A Child, So Good To Be In Love Again, Let’s Be Lovers Again, Life For The Takin, Give Me Some Water, Million Dollar Girl, Trinidad, Save A Little Room, and The Wish

the money man was HUGE in the day with a ton of top10 hits. not a one hit wonder whatsoever. one of his best - and my favorite - is one that got no radio airplay whatsoever. the song is 'looking through the eyes of a child' and should have been a smash. for those unfamiliar with it here is the link : kzbin.info/www/bejne/joOqaYevr9Z3gJY

I was in my mid-20'a when this came out so I really couldn't relate to it. It was a groove, for sure, but the words didn't really hit me. Then, when I was in my 50's I heard it again for the first time in a long, long time and the words suddenly hit me like a thunderbolt. I'm in my 60's now and sometimes wish I could go back and do some things over. This song is so much more relatable to me now, but the groove is still amazing! Love the sax, which was very prevalent in a lot of 80's hits.

Hey Harri! Love your channel! You gotta play the Raspberries "I Can Remember". I mean, no one's discussed this song and like wow! Back when that live version came out we were like WHAT THE HECK IS THIS STUFF?! All of us were in total silence throughout the entire song and then after it ended we just were like WOW! INCREDIBLE! No one had done anything like that at the time. So please . . . check it out! Especially the live in concert 1973 version! All the best! And thanks again!
