My mom was very ill with Alzheimer’s. Eddie Money was coming to town for a concert. I was so excited to see him. I found out my sister had purchased tickets also. She was equally excited to see Eddie. Neither of us had seen him in concert. The day before the concert, my sister and I decided it was not appropriate to go to the concert with mom in such bad condition. We didn’t go. Mom passed away a few days after. I promised my sister I would get tickets on Eddie’s next tour and would take her anywhere in the country to see him. Eddie passed away before that could happen. I miss them both.

Am I the only one who thinks the saxophone at the end of "I Wanna Go Back" is a bit overdone? I've always found it jarring when vocals and instruments are competing simultaneously for the attention of the listener. It'd be like if the lead guitarist of a heavy metal band starts shredding while the vocalist is still singing. "I Wanna Go Back" is a perfect song until the outro, when the saxophone starts trampling on the vocals.

Hey y'all, someone has already suggested these as well.....''Baby Hold On To Me'', ''Two Tickets To Paradise'', and "Take Me Home Tonight''. These are a must with Eddie Money and will not disappoint. This was very popular in the late '70's! Great reaction!
@dr47822 жыл бұрын
"Shakin'" was a hit for Eddie Money in 1982, and it's a perfect example of a not-Top 40 hit that's become a classic. It peaked at #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1982, though it performed considerably better on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, where it peaked at #9. The following is a list of Eddie Money's 11 Top 40 hits: "Baby Hold On" (#11 in 1978) "Two Tickets To Paradise" (#22 in 1978) "Maybe I'm A Fool" (#22 in 1979) "Think I'm In Love" (#16 in 1982) "Take Me Home Tonight" (#4 in 1986) "I Wanna Go Back" (#14 in 1987) "Endless Nights" (#21 in 1987) "Walk On Water" (#9 in 1988) "The Love In Your Eyes" (#24 in 1989) "Peace In Our Time" (#11 in 1990) "I'll Get By" (#21 in 1992) In terms of chart performance, his career seems similar to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Both of them became popular in the late 1970s and created Top 40 hits all the way into the 1990s. Neither of them were superstars cranking out a bunch of mega-hits, but both of them were ever-present on the pop charts with most of their hits peaking in the 10s and 20s, and a couple that broke through into the Top 10.

When I was a junior in college back in the late 80's, Eddie Money came to perform at the Air Force Academy. I was working stage crew for many of the performers that came to our very small venue, but Eddie's show sticks out for a couple of reasons: 1. I was a HUGE fan of his in high school. 2. He was so high (presumably cocaine++) during his show that he could barely walk, and could never remember the lyrics to his songs. 3. His band had to write the lyrics on big pieces of paper they would attach to the monitors in front of him, and they loved to play tricks on him with what they wrote: "Two Tickets to Paradise" became "Two t*ts and a pair of thighs" "I got real nervous, she took her coat off, she was so pretty" became "I got real hard then, she took her clothes off, she was so horny" etc., etc. Best part was, he sung the songs just like they wrote them, but you couldn't *really* tell unless you were paying extremely close attention.
@pmck63362 жыл бұрын
Always liked this video. Maybe because Apollonia played Rosanna in the video, this is before she was in Purple Rain. "I got a little nervous when she took her coat off, she looked so pretty. Ahh yeah". Funny reflection from Eddie Money..."If you look at that video and you see her try to dance, that woman couldn’t dance her way out of a Stevie Wonder movie."

Give it 3 listens and you'll be hooked. Some songs are like that, and you DEFINITELY need to get Lex to LISTEN to the lyrics, cause Brad, she CLEARLY didn't understand what the story was about.
