This is such a powerful moment in the story, and Michael really sells it. Eddie telling Diane the truth could have come off as very insulting or selfish, but he brought a vulnerability to it that shines through.

@@shadowban581 ???? I was saying it was about Jim Morrison and the possibility of him faking his death....remember the rumors? Yes Beaver Brown was excellent in my opinion. Yet anyone who listened to the doors, could easily see the parallels between the Cruisers and them. Not only Eddie's passion for music (Morrisons was legendary for his and his poems BTW), yet the hypnotic beat of the music as well. Loved the Monkeys also BTW! :)

@@frederickgreaves4245 Eddie and the Cruisers wasn't about Morrison. It was a veiled biopic about Springsteen. PF Kluge wrote the novel with Springsteen in mind. The director, Martin Davidson who optioned to book from Kluge, wanted to the music to sound like the sounds of the Jersey Shore mixed with the Doors. Kluge had Springsteen in mind when he wrote the novel.

I used to say 2 was better but now I lean to both being equally good. They are really two different movies when you look into it. First one was a time period/mystery hybrid movie with solid characterization put into all of the characters. 2 is a solid road trip/character journey music movie. It has more to do with the music than the OG one does which is crazy to consider. They both work well for what they were.

Best got kicked out for being the most popular member of the band at the time. He got all the girls, and all the girls attention, the others were jealous. The others lied about the real reason then, and continue to lie about it to this day. Nothing to do about he wasn't a good drummer, and Ringo was better. It must have been shattering for Best to miss out on his due fame and fortune. Imagine where Ringo would have ended up, if Best hadn't been pulling all the tail.

But while the first movie has a critics' score in the mid 30% Fresh category, the 2nd movie only got 3 reviews, all negative.
