FYI-The music was recorded and performed by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band from Narragansett, Rhode Island. All the members had ties-both family and friendship to both Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes. The connections were New Jersey, Rhode Island and New York. it was a pleasure to see them a long time ago-It was a Rock & Roll dance party you never wanted to end! Best wishes to all!

I've listened to the music of different bands and I must say that just like he says in the movie, in order to make great music, you have to put feeling into it. Real music has to live. I've seen some bands who play some good music and I"ve also seen bands who play the kind of music where it's easy for someone who puts their heart and soul into music/work that they produce, to be able to tell that they do the totally opposite. What some need to do is to take the time and "listen to your own self", listen to recordings of how you sound and then you will see for yourself what you are accomplishing. The energy that is inside of you is what you have to let out in order to make some great music and your heart needs to be in it. You can't have the kind of attitude that you are so excited and just want to be in front of an audience and on a stage getting some attention, and yet you can't perform. You are gaining nothing. That's why you see some get credit the do not rightfully deserve. I believe that if a person really loves what they do, they put their heart and soul, energy into their work and don't settle for second best. I believe in "rightfully earning the credit that one gets". This is some great music in the movie. You can hear and feel the emotion and feeling, energy put into it.

Totally agree, Bob. He did a magnificent job throughout the entire movie. There were times it was easy to think it was actually him.

It's because he sang the song and then the vocal track was played over the top. There are rumors that there was a series of days during filming the first movie where Michael argued with the Director and vice versa about singing the songs himself. Apparently several things were thrown over the course of the arguments and one of the car windows had to be replaced because of it.

interesting comparing this to the 'stachless perf at the end of the movie, which is more pumped up and suited to be the climax of the movie. Great song both times, but this perf is edited a little more pedestrian, suited to the middle of the movie.
