@user-ep3hm3it1m I would LOVE to see Wolfie do a tribute tour. He was fantastic at the Taylor Hawkins tributes. However, Wolfie has been pretty clear about his lack of interest in a tribute with him in it. He gets so much crap about riding his Dad's coat tails.( which is total BS). I'm sure that has a lot to do with his decision to steer clear.

I think Joe Satriani is a guitar god, but I definitely think Steve would be better suited for playing Van Halen material live..his style matches up with Ed's better than Satch....
@dyer2cycle10 ай бұрын
I think Wolfie could do it for sure, but doubtful he would do it without Alex on board, which is doubtful...love Joe, but his playing style is too different than Ed's...I definitely think Steve would be a good fit, also...I think everybody should just put their egos and grudges aside, and Sammy, Dave, Mikey, Alex, and Wolfie do some shows together...I think it would benefit them as much as the fans, if they just let all the sh*t between them go...@user-ep3hm3it1m

I remember haunting a lot of local music stores in 1980's CA as a teen. I used to really envy the "older" guys who worked in these shops who got at least a few passes to NAMM back then if the shop they worked for was an authorized seller for "x-y-z"-product. The stories they brought back with them generally involved some member of Toto, Tom Scholz or most importantly to me at the time, EVH. And most of what they said about Eddie was _not_ complimentary: Claiming he was drunk/coked out the day they saw him, doing endless whammy dive-bombs and playing over everybody in the jam sessions. I know this is only one video of one day but, it kinda makes me question a lot of what those guys said now. To me and on this vid, Eddie looks healthy, mostly sober, happy and kicking ass playing as he ever did. I saw Eddie in early 00's with Van Hagar so I know what he looks/sounds like playing loaded, sloppy and reckless. So now seeing this, I have to retroactively question the motivations for all of those guys I knew back then that I'm starting to realize were basically resentful "1970's"-players who even post-5150, saw EVH as a "punk fad", and not good for the guitar playing world. Obviously, the world has changed, and a lot of those music store guys from back then are retired or dead. And to a modern day teen, EVH's legend is like Gen X teens hearing about Buddy Holly's or Buck Owens's bands, back in the 50's. Amazing how time flies and pre-internet opinions and rumors that you hung on every word of when you had to depend on other people for firsthand experiences, are now just irrelevancies, compartmentalized, or just forgotten unless somebody you knew back then brings them up. I guess that's just another sneaky part of growing up that you don't realize is even happening, until it's almost over. Long live EVH and his enduring legacy.
