How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever? Set sail to sea but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure Was he the one causing pain With his careless dreaming? Been afraid, always afraid Of the things he's feeling He could just be gone He would just sail on! He would just sail on How can I be lost? If I've got nowhere to go? Searched the seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost? In remembrance I relive And how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive? These days drift on inside a fog It's thick and suffocating This seeking life, outside it's hell Inside intoxicating He's run aground like his life Water much too shallow Slipping fast, down with the ship Fading in the shadows Now a castaway Blame all gone away! Blame gone away How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost? In remembrance I relive And how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive? Forgive me Forgive me not Forgive me Forgive me not Forgive me Forgive me not Forgive me Forgive me, why can't I forgive me?! Set sail to sea but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever? How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost? In remembrence I relive So how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive?

I’ve always admired Metallica for their music. But only until Load appeared did I start to appreciate them for their courage. They still beat their own drum and defy their own fans. They have stood and overcome an awful lot of tough shit. And I do agree this is one of Hammett’s finest solos in quite some albums
@aldersmoke12 жыл бұрын
To each their own, but the Load albums were anything but courageous to my ear. They were Metallica trying (albeit successfully) to fit in with the whole alterna-grunge thing. It kept them relevant, but not very interesting.

I kinda love the transition in the three Unforgiven songs. In Part 1, the term 'Unforgiven' is introduced and what it is all about, and in Part 2, it's about accusing people of being Unforgiven, and in the final part, he declares himself Unforgiven. Not sure if I'm actually accurate, but it's just my understanding of the song.

This is one of the most amazing fan-created videos that I have ever seen. It's too bad there was never an official video for part III, but this one fits the bill with me. I hope to see a part IV song sometime in the future. I can only imagine what you had to go through to create this with Windows Movie Maker. I used it to make a few (simple) videos, and found it very powerful, extensible (creating XML files for green-screen, etc.), and well-priced (free in SP3). You just be quite the Metallica fan. Thank YOU for creating it. :)

i think this song is so good that it evokes the same feeling with the previous ones but totally in a new way. each of them are quiet authentic. it's like james visits a certain of state of spirituality in each of them, whose beginning maybe could be traced back to fade to black - which was certainly about someone else. i think he was hugely affected by that sister of his girlfriend's back then (regarding whom fade to black was written). he, in a way, has accessed the melancholy of mortality with its awareness of being bound to others. the theme that strikes me most about all the unforgiven songs is that "he" cares too much about others in such a way that he's responsible for all their existences per sei. it's like a modern 'atlas' story revisited.
