Thanks for your video. I did the very same thing for the very same reasons. Your video showed me how to repair it and that worked great after getting 12x 30A from the auto parts store. After the repair I cleaned up and got the shipping box ready for disposal and THEN found a little package of 12 x 30A fuses INCLUDED. I guess they figure more than a few people will do this.

Hey man, I have this inverter and I'm in the middle of a power outage and I did the exact same thing! Manual doesnt talk about the fuses at all. This video is pretty much all that came back from a google search. I was able to run to the auto parts store (they have power), less than 10 bucks in fuses and it worked. Thanks brother!

I have a 24v 3000w inverter that the same company made installed on my M1009 Blazer using the 24v bus in the back seat behind the front passenger. I mainly use it to power my tools or charge flashlight batteries on the go. However, I did use it one winter when the power went out and turned my CUCV into a backup generator. Kept me from freezing that night.

Any ideas on why my exact same models inverter has suddenly developed a fault. It has been stood dormant in a campervan. Gone to use it, no ac power. 5 bleeps and overload on lcd. This is with nothing connected.

My first inverter was a 1200 watts Duralast...if you hook it up backwards, a little red light comes on, but it doesn't harm the inverter...it was a good choice at the time...since then I have learned how to hook one up. I use red and black #2 welding lead cable on inverters. I always leave one cable on each post of the inverter, the correct color...makes it harder to hook it up wrong. Looks like you need better lighting if you can't see what you're doing...I wouldn't try to hook up my $900 Aims inverter charger in the dark. I don't ever get in that much of a hurry for anybody. I don't have $335 for power and control boards. Plus shipping which winds up being $85. Has to be insured. It's easier for me to just check with the voltmeter before ever hooking wires up. Another thing is everone tries to hide the inverter and shove it into a tiny space, with no air movement...I have fans blowing on mine. I like for an inverter to run as cool as possible. I made up a cooling fan for sitting in front of either of my inverters, that only uses 5 watts...it's 12 volt and I put a flip switch on the side. It has been over 100 degrees, so fans are necessary. I had to get an inverter last week for my pickup so I can get spring water in a couple barrels in the back. And I didn't know which one to get so I bought a 2000 watts Ampeak...it is a good little inverter. It says it has 9 fuses inside, I don't know if they are soldered in but I don't want to find out really. You can use a light bulb for a safety check. Hook up one post, and the other connect through an incandescent light bulb...if the light doesn't dim after a few seconds of capacitor charging, it's hooked up backwards. It's better than frying stuff and it only takes a few seconds.

Good point about the fans. You definitely need them.

I have the same inverter, has been in my truck for 2+/- years and seems the outlet s are wearing out as I hear some items that make a noise when intially powered keeps going off and on., and if I wiggle the cord a few times to get a good contact again.

The EDECOA inverters do not output the same as the grid. The polarity is reversed. I have been using one to run my fridge and it make the fridge leak water. On the grid the fridge does not leak water. I have tester that shows when the ac polarity is wrong.

I have a 3000w unit, same company. I have a question if you don't mind. I have a 2015 Ford transit 250mr, I added a 2nd battery and up dated the cpu. The problem I have is my inverter won't even run the 1500 w ceramic heater we have. Sorry to ask you if you have ideas on what could be wrong with my inverter, but I have tried contacting company on their web site, but support site says it isn't working. I'm also a Vermonter,Jericho. Can you point me in the right direction, or a site I can contact company. Or do I toss this one on the manure pile on the farm. Also great post, My unit powers up, so not sure if I need to check units fuses. Thanks foir anything you can do !! Jason

@Vermont Prepper, I have this EXACT inverter. Three weeks ago it blew a capacitor and I have now replaced it. To do so I had to dismantle the entire inverter to get the board out of the case. As you said were only human and I forgot to take photos of the inverter together. I removed the grey heat sinks on both sides , the green chassis, the 15 or so MFT clips that are screwed onto the outside of the chassis, and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to put it back together. I spent $12.00 on the new capacitor but it took so long to come in this thing just sat in a pile of parts. You would be a lifesaver if we could communicate and you could possibly send me photos of the inverter closeup, we can private message about details and you would be saving my bacon big time. Thanks so much , just reply here and I’ll shoot you a message with my details. Thanks Jay TinyWanderland

Hello,I made a short on load side.It stopped working.It shows me only 50V when nothing connected but if I plug whatever it goes to zero and exclamation mark appears.Do you think that are the problem with fuses?There are 8 fuses.The same as in my car.They seems visually OK.Thanks

Mine just took a shit. I keep hearing like a tiny arc like something inside is sparking. Then, the display showed a triangle with an explanation mark. Don’t know what’s going on.
@VermontPrepper3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't sound good. Check your fuses
@fredkilner2299 Жыл бұрын
If you can hear it arcing before it dies completely running it with the case open in the dark might let you see a bad component. Bad capacitor (Tall round thing) or bad insulation of transformer or circuit board trace. Maybe bad connection inside and something is lose. When there are many amps then having a good connection is important. You've probably put a car battery in and cranked it and heard a pop and no power and then oops put battery clamps on too loose. Who knows. Oh a year ago. RRRR!

Hi, Please could you help me? I need the number of two IC on the circuit board because I have the same inverter like you, and the two controller IC is exploded, I replaced the mosfets (all of them, six was in short circuit) and than I not set a low current limit on my bench supply when I tried to start... If you can help me, i send a video of the exploded ICs destination. Thanks, Tibor

@@VermontPrepper I am, i just need a photo of two IC from your edecoa 3500W inverter if you can make a photo of that part that can help me a lot of course if possible.
@VermontPrepper2 жыл бұрын
Maybe a local person can do it for you at a reasonable cost??
@csikker2 жыл бұрын
@Vern Larson Not hard to replace the mosfets BUT if anything else damaged like in my edecoa inverter than when you switch on the driver circuit will explode. I tested without the short circuit mosfets, and the diplay came on etc, so I put the new mosfets in and I was stupid and not set current limit to the lab power supply than two driver IC exploded. I cannot read the number of ICs because they burned so badly :( So measure all the driver and primer circuit because it can cause suprises. :)
