Try it with contact tape on the face. The tech is less bout opening or closing the face, but more about center face contact with these clubs. If the swing plane is under or over you will like the weight on the heel or toe respectively. If you’re on plane the heavy weight is in center slot. Edel calls these different things. Just got fitted, and the weights do make a difference for center contact.

The slit is for getting in and out of the turf quickly. Thats why you feel it getting out nicely. Why it launches higher is bc your hitting it a grooce or two higher than the others
