Thanks for the best review of the SuperCharger 2 I have seen so far. I am getting mine with the same exact specs as in this video in 3 weeks - can't wait :-)

Great review. Love that bike. Been looking at charger3, supercharger2 and Superdelite, but one thing its a must for me and only for the lush of technology and because I got tired of chains and derraileurs, the Rohloff E14! Everything in this R&M ebikes got the proper attention and care for quality, make everything else look like a toy. As usual, there is a price...

i have a similar problem. can`t decide between Homage, Supercharger, Superdelite or HNF-Nicolai XF3 Adventure. all of them are great, they all cost almost the same, but each of them, have their own niche. ·

Great bike, great video! The Nyon part is a bit too extensive, I'd have made that a different in-depth video, but of course you can skip that part. I have a SC2 too, interestingly it came with a Marzocchi instead of the Suntour suspension fork for whatever reason, but I won't complain. The range is really amazing, I've replaced my car with the bike and I'm commuting a lot, also have two trailer for tours with the kids and for groceries, it's a real everyday machine.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try and break out the displays in seperate videos. R&M have started to ship the Marzocchi fork on some bikes in the last few months due to a shortage of of the Suntours, this has kept the leadtimes down and they are still great forks. Sounds like you are getting great use from the Supercharger2...it's one of my favourite bikes :)

I'd like to suggest to R & M they add a mode to the assist levels that equals removing the bike weight from the picture and nothing more.... What say you? Good idea?

I make that 168cm. R&M suggest the 46cm bike is suitable for a rider 160-175cm, so yes :)

Could you buy a supercharger from you that hasn't restricted for off road purposes only ?

We could order you an HS bike directly from R&M, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you intend to register it for road use only in the UK.

Is there such a service in the USA to remove the R&M name and make it look very unappealing, like not worth stealing? I'm thinking of traveling all over the world with one and pull a one-wheeled trailer.

This R&M Supercharger is driving like a German tank, it is strong, solid and indestructible! Downside is that this is not a real speed pedelec but more an upgraded pedelec, with comfortable cruising speeds between 32-35 km/h (not 45 km/h). Problem is the Bosch Performance Line speed motor (Gen4) with only 250 Watt power... the best performing speed pedelecs on the market have motors with 600-900 Watt power and that's all that matters. As soon R&M is providing a powerfull hubmotor with Pinion-gears and drivingbelt I will concider to replace my ST5 with a Supercharger2 HS.
@OM-sb2bd3 жыл бұрын
The Bosch Performance Line Speed puts out 75nm torque and does a terrific job of flattening even very steep hills-and in most riding conditions can easily maintain speeds 20-28mph. That’s a “real speed pedelec”if there is one … it’s not the watts only, it’s how they’re translated to the pavement while riding. I’m basing my comments off my Gazelle with the same motor - it’s been a terrific motor doing everything you’d want. There are plenty of hub-drive motors putting out 500+Watts that are equally fast, or perhaps can accelerate a bit faster, but they’re much less efficient and can’t match the refinement and natural bike pedal feel of the mid-mount Bosch motors. And those higher watt motors are still Class 3, 28mph restricted anyways just like the Bosch Speed motor.
@panlomito3 жыл бұрын
@@OM-sb2bd That is not my experience I have with a lot of speed pedelecs with a Bosch mid-motor. You are not able to cruise comfortable with a speed at 28 mph (=45 km/h). The comfortable speed with these motors is around 38 km/h (24 mph) and that is not enough to cycle between cars, so these "speed" pedelecs end up on a bicycle path where they are not allowed to use. I call these bicycles a "spijt pedelec", Dutch for "regret pedelec". And I can verify this with all the trade-in regret pedelecs of clients that took there loss and progressed to a real speed pedelec.
@OM-sb2bd3 жыл бұрын
@@panlomito interesting … do you live in the US? Riding a class 3 here on a bike trail has never been a problem - indeed, most bike/walk trials here have posted “max 15mph” signs posted anyways…so whether you’re on a class 1 or 3 is not an issue, unless you’re riding obviously dangerously. I guess it’s really the degree of regulation, and effort to enforce any regulations, that matters most….would you agree? I’m just not seeing any enforcement-indeed it would shock me if a cop or anyone else went out of his way to stop me and ask what class ebike I’m riding….but I suppose it’s not an impossible scenario. As for cruising speeds, if you’re on relatively flat terrain with the Bosch Speed (Gen 4) motor like mine you can easily maintain 28mph if you like just using ‘Tour’ assist level (2nd of 4 assist levels) using a high gear like 8th-10th. And you can maintain it even easier of course in ‘Sport’ or ‘Turbo’ assist levels.

Needs a decent rig for that headlight - the handlebar mount will be shaded by any bag on the front flat rack and your road ahead will be poorly illuminated. Put the headlight at fork-crown height. Perhaps a bracket designed to mount to the suspension slider bridge? Alternately can you fit a rack that turns with the steering and mount a light underneath on that rack? s14761.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/03/Riese-Mueller-Supercharger-2-Test-Review-2020-145-600x400.jpg Also are you developing a front pannier rack to carry two lower-mounted panniers? This IS supposed to be a touring e-bike after all. Ideal bike load placement is to carry gear on the front (40% min) and low-mounted. Waiting to hear about new fittings and accessories.
