Edge Racing Torque Converter Install For Ram Truck Or 45RFE/545RFE/65RFE/66RFE

In this video I install a edge racing converter on my 2011 ram 1500.
The low heat, high performance torque converter designed with street use in mind. The Street Edge is used in applications with up to 600+ HP. A good choice for the performance minded daily driver, or weekend racer. A torque converter built efficient enough to drive in the city without adding unwanted heat. Impeller and turbine are furnace brazed. The lock up is upgraded to the latest "high carbon" friction. Hardened input splines, computer balancing and custom configuration. The O.E. stator is upgraded (replaced), and the cover is upgraded to billet steel. This tq converter will work on all Ram trucks from 2003-2014 with the 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, or 66RFE transmissions. All tq converters are custom built per application. Stall speeds can be set anywhere from 2400-3400rpms based on the power your motor is putting out. Hey bro I been mulling it around with Justin Abit but what do you think on a watts linkage on on frostbite? my cover on my gen 2 Durango diff cover has one factory and it be simple to find 1 at a salvage yard u could go to one cut off the mounting ears grab the connecting bars and diff cover boom! Kit for a watts linkage on a ram....jus a bug I thought I'd drop in your ear 💪🍻😎🤠

I just got my edge 3400++ from Andre in the mail today. Going into my cammed 5.7 VVT Laredo 4wd 65rfe... crazy thing is! You can’t really tell out of the box it’s a street edge high stall converter. Looks OEM haha. I watched your video to compare what mine looked likes vs yours. So far they look the same. Can’t wait to take my entire Jeep apart this weekend to get her in there. Love the channel man!

Same exact motor cycle jack I use for trans drops, but on the dakota 45rfe I usually just lower it onto my chest by hand before sliding it over to the ground and putting it back on my chest and then benchpress spiking the trans to the engine before holding with one hand until I get the side bellhousing bolts in -definately easier with a helper to out in the bolts though- since it's not very heavy (dropped, swapped and rebuilt this trans a frustratingly-annoying amount of times lol, I even have my exhaust built around making it easy - anyone who knows about a way to tune a 66rfe without rewiring for canbus let know. Or better yet a 8hp that can communicate with pci bus)

Just ordered my street edge today hoping to get my 60 ft times from 1.97 to 1.60 got the 3400 stall running 13.30 now at 100mph I Have a 2019 warlock quad cab 2 WD Jay Greene tune ,stainless works full headers no cats 87mm srt throttle body ,core4x4 control arms and Nitto 305/50/20 Drag radials hope they hook your Chanel is awesome thanks for all your info man

12:03. Replace those trans line clips everytime you pull them off. Worked as a mechanic for many years. Trust me, I've seen those damn things come off. Chchcheby junk is famous for this

the torque converter bolts are spaced close enough together you can access 2 of them at one time. I used the bolts to rotate the converter so I didn't have to go back and forth to the crank.

I have a 10’ w the same transmission. I’m not due for a change as I replaced the trans 30k miles ago. Will I need to add fluid to it after doing a stall? Never done one before lol

Nice video. I'm sure it was tough filming this process. I'm about to replace my TC on my 2014 Ram 5.7 8 speed. My question is do I have to do a re learn after? Are there any special tools I should purchase for this job? What did you torque to bolts to on the TC? And lastly how many quarts of fluid did you have to add? Thanks for any help!

Honestly only had to fill the converter with fluid and install didn't need much fluid at all perhaps 1-2quarts. No need for relearn and if you have seen some of my other videos you would know I'm not known to grab the torque wrench often lol just go with the flow or 1-2 thugga whuggas 🤣👍

Torque converter swap was a success. Got it done in one day with the help of my brother. Biggest pain was unplugging the o2 sensors off the top of the transmission.

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 V8 Hemi with the 545rfe transmission with Tow and haul switch ,two-wheel drive, I am replacing the transmission and the torque converter how many quarts of fluid do I need I'm guessing about 12 and should I use regular ATF or. Full synthetic, note I'm replacing it with a used transmission with 93000 miles on it

Very thorough thank you. I have a 14 Ram 2500 with the Cummins and 68RFE. Since it was brand new it has always clunked in the driveline at low speed when letting off the throttle or getting back on it. If I do a transmission relearn on it, it goes away, but only for about 100 miles then it comes back. Any thoughts?
