Great video, the mockup plane made the tutorial extremely didactic. My mixes have just a little refinement: instead of using the standard diff curve I create customized curves and use them to fine tune how I want the mixes to behave depending on the input. For an instance, in KE (knife edge) mixes I can adjust the aileron or elevator correction depending on the amount of rudder used (little correction close to the center and more with extreme throws). Airplane behavior is almost never linear so this can help fine tune your mixes for a perfectly straight flight. This is obviously not needed for most flyers but can help when using extreme throws with those not so well designed (or constructed) planes.

I've done a number of curve based mixes as well. People like to see them both ways. I prefer curves for granularity.

Again - very informative video with great quality. Although, today I just discovered how to control my mix weight (elevator and flaps) with another slider/knob. That might be helpful to setup a mix value in the air without landing all over again. That is trickier since flaps work on different PWM range than rudder but very similar to your 1st mix shown in this video. In the mixer tab, just add curve that it should follow (same as on input curve for flap mix) and then on flaps off (-100 pwm) there is 0 elevator added and on flaps deployed (+100 PWM) there is given value of elevator set by your slider/knob.

There are lots of ways to make curves, weights, and expo work as you're discovering. I showed how to use sliders for weight and expo here kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6KaloWhabNgprs and I go into built-in curves vs custom curves here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXvYp59poq2rqpo Finally there is a detailed curve specific video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmqzlJyAnc93n5o Have fun with OpenTX. There's no function to do full span ailerons. You'd have to create a mix. I cover it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHPQq2qjfpuMna8

When you do the elevator /throttle mix could you do it on a curve? I've got one of those dancing wing eagles. I got a ton of nose up once I cross the 50% throttle (1/2 stick movement). Doesn't seem linear, seems like I need a lot more elevator as throttle goes up. CG seems spot on as I can glide in manual mode with minor adjustments for wind. Theoretically these type of planes need to 2 to 3% off right and down motor offset. I really didn't see that much difference between zero offset and 3% offset (used a 3d printer part to create the offset).

On the INPUTS page create an input called AIL, use the AIL stick as the source. On the MIXER page - add a line on ChX (where x is the receiver channel you want for Aileron 1) use the Aileron INPUT you created as the source. - add a second line on ChY (where y is the receiver channel you want for Aileron 2) use the aileron INPUT you created as the source.

I'm new in Edgetx world. I commonly use Spektrum and futaba sustem. About Edgetx scrips. Can use more than one? Or what is the best for fixed wings, helicopters and multirotors?
@RCVideoReviews2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean about using EdgeTX scripts and using more than one. You'll need to be more specific. What I can tell you is the radio ships with a number of LUA scripts arranged in the tools folder so you can access them from the tools menu under the system button. I don't believe you can have more than one lua script running at one time but the developers may disagree with that especially when it comes to things like widgets.

how you create new airplane with edgetx, if the airplane have (2) ailerons ( 2 differents channels) and (2) elevator (2 differents channels)
@RCVideoReviews2 жыл бұрын
In the mixer add four lines: 1, 2, 3, 4. Lines 1 and 2 use Aileron for input. Lines 3 and 4 use Elevator for input. Use the output screen as necessary to reverse servos. On your RX, connect Ailerons to Ch 1 and 2, connect Elevators to Ch 3 and 4.

In my Boxer radio, I am trying to create a mix for a dual servo configuration,(one servo on each aileron), using channel 5 (which controls the two-position switch (SA)) and the aileron channel 1. After mixing it with the aileron channel to control both ailerons with the same stick, the aileron is behaving as if it were moved by a binary switch (example +100 and -100) on channel 5 only, while channel 1 works normally. Although both show continuous movement from -100 to +100 on the channel monitor, the aileron doesn't act like this in real life, but in a binary way. Why might this be happening? Can you help me with that?

hi dear , i learnt lot from your video , i have 2 question , no 1 , how we use T5 or T6 , to set as timer reset switch ? 2nd question is : i am assigned these switches in GLOBLE FUNCTION , SA , SB SC SD SG , SE AND SH , can we use these switches , for other setting also , like you are using , for example , throttle elevtor , switch SH , and i assigned this SH SWITCH FOR SD LOG AND TOUCH ? DISPITE we are alredy install these switches on global function , no conflict , using in globle function and in mix ? my english is not good , i hope you get my point ===========================================

I'v noticed when flying on a simulator, that when I make a turn using alerons, the plane loses altitude. Doe it make sense to mix alerons with elevator UP to avoid descending?
@RCVideoReviewsАй бұрын
What happens if you're flying knife edge or inverted? Do you always want the elevator to be manipulated when you're holding aileron in a non-neutral position? As a general rule, I don't use mixes for flight controls with the exception of down elevator when I deploy flaps.
@rmikloshАй бұрын
@@RCVideoReviews Makes sense). I do not plan yet to go for aerobatics. Just want to sport fly and later on, put fpv on the plane. I guess I will just get used to pulling up on elevator when I turn.

When I learned to fly full scale planes, my instructor asked me to perform a maneuver (I think it was circles about a point). The objective was to hold altitude within 50' and maintain a constant radius circle about a point (like a radio tower). The learning goal was to teach pilots how wind impacts the flight path of an airplane and how it is necessary to make adjustments to controls in order to maintain a desired flight path with consideration of how wind impacts the plane. The first time I tried it, I had difficulty getting everything just right, and I looked at her with what must have been a face that said, 'help'. Her response to me: "What? Fly the plane! Do you think someone is going to be here to help you when you're on your own?" That statement "fly the plane" has been with me my entire life and it applies to more than just aviation. So, I'll pay it forward to you: Fly the plane.

@@RCVideoReviews I have a question about landing and using a throttle. I would assume that you cannot just cut a throttle before hitting a ground because you will not be able to use elevator to push the tail to the ground and end up flipping over. Am I right? I would just need a bit of prop going just enough to make ele work. What is your opinion?
