Field of the dead wouldnt be terrible in an omnath deck if you are running snow lands in addition to normal basics because then you are basically at the same point of running 4 colors but only actually running 2 and snow lands are basics so all ramp cards work with them. Mountain, snow mountain, forest, snow forest.. boom already at 4 different named lands and field would be 5 so just two other lands and you're set.

Another note with Nesting Ground - the second target doesn't have to be one you control. You could even just use it to move -1/-1 counters from your creatures to your opponents'. There's probably other counters as well. For instance there was a legendary creature that put bounty counters on your creatures. I don't remember what they did exactly, but it would be useful to be able to move them around.

There's a desert version of safe haven, called Endless sands, that taps for mana. I run both in my zirilan of the claw deck, they're good at getting around his exile at end of turn downside. They also work as instant blinks for anything that has a coin counter on it in Athreos the shroud-veiled you don't even need to sacrifice them the creatures just come straight back without a counter! Acceptable video overall, but his next level assessment of some of these cards is sub-par at best. Case in point Cavern of Souls so low. Field of the dead will only be used in a deck that is gonna abuse it. Why spend the large price on a land that isn't going to be maximized
@henlohenlo68910 ай бұрын
was ice floe mentioned? ice floe: tap target creature you may choose not to untap ice floe, and as long as ice floe is tapped that creature remains tapped. this might be better than maze of ith because it can stop a creature with a tapping activated ability. but it could be also use along side maze of ith. there is a draw back though is that it can't target a creature that has flying. but has the extra perk of locking down creatures with tap abilities.

Pretty nice to see many of the lands i love in a top list. One interaction i have used many times and that i would like to share is to remove the counter from blast zone with nesting grounds and blowing up zero mana artifacts and tokens. Many players don't see that one coming. As for the question: "how many colorles do i put on 4 or 5 colored decks?" I would say max 3. And there is gotta be a very strong interaction with the strategy overall to meet that 3 cap. In my ramos deck for example i included 2 colorless lands. Both give flash to all spells. (Don't recall the names of the top of my head) one has a simic activation and the other sacs itself. This is to maximize the usage of ramos mana producing ability during my opponents turns.

@@edhdeckbuilding it's considerably better because it taps for mana and you can activate it whenever you want. The first thing being critical. There's a reason Safe Haven is in barely any decks at all and wouldn't make most people's top 30 utility lands list. Calling Safe Haven too mana intensive is neglecting the fact that it doesn't tap for mana itself. If you play Safe Haven, you are missing out on a mana that a regular land could have tapped for every single turn. Let's say you played it on turn 3. By Turn 7 you've given up 5 mana in total.
