Allot of peopld thought it was just a bad coincidence, but the theory blew up on social media, so much so that CEC had to make a public announcement saying that they "definitely weren't doing this", but a bunch of people that said they worked at CEC were "admitted" that they did in fact do this, and one guy even got a job at CEC to see for himself if it was true or not, and it was, and he even recorded himself confronting his boss and getting fired over it. My take is that some franchise probably are doing this, but only the ones that are actually really suffering in sales, and that this isnt a standard practice done by the company. EDP is the kind of person that would probably do this, though.

It's very possible for a therapist to confuse a strong emotional response with action. It happens all the time with patients being hospitalized against their will. I suggest you look up people experiences with being hospitalized against their will because of confused communication.
