6:46 when I got into secondary the bullying for free school meals became rampant, like everyone who paid would bully those who got them for free, so they introduced the thumbprint system, everyone registered their thumbprint or PIN number and put money in the account(or free school meal amounts) and whenever you got food, you’d have to put in the pin but you wouldn’t know who was on free or paid meals. So the bullying slowly stopped when people couldn’t tell if you was paying or not!!

In reference to the part where they are calling that girl ‘fat slob’ etc. I am 30yrs old now (female) however when I was in secondary school someone called me ‘thunder thighs’ (I now see I wasn’t fat but at that age I didn’t see it that way) anyways. That 1 comment had a massive impact, I ended up with an eating disorder which resulted in anorexia and bulimia. At 30yrs old I still have a love:hate relationship with food and I always, always remember that ‘thunder thighs’ comment. Just clarifying that these comments CAN affect someone’s entire life.. Anyway - Great videos Cam! 👍🏽

The girl who said she doesn’t like eating her lunch in front of people cause it made her uncomfortable.. I understood that in a spiritual level. Around year 8, I stopped eating anything at school and wouldn’t eat until around 4 everyday since I never ate breakfast either. Eventually I’d eat snack type things since I could eat them quickly but still it was sad to realise that I stopped feeling hungry in the day since my body got used to not eating for hours

Having worked in a secondary school in one of the most deprived areas of Manchester really changed how lenient I was with uniforms... the whole point of the uniform is so that kids from better off families don't bully kids from more disadvantaged families based on what they were wearing. Some of the kids I worked with didn't even have a mattress at home. The uniform being clamped down on, was so that other kids didn't realise that some of these kids didn't have other clothes, or shoes - besides what they wore to school... it's not AS big a deal in certain areas of Manchester, but for areas like that, you're literally preventing bullying by taking uniforms more seriously than you would like to...

13:37 when you first join you don’t notice the amount of people. When things start happening you start noticing all the extra noises, paper, pencils, jackets and everything all of a sudden becomes too much and you need OUT! I get that too. Not as much anymore and for some reason it tends to be worse when I’m around 5-10 people, but more than 10 it’s fine because I’m focusing on a couple of those not all those 15/20 people!

Hey cam, love this vid and all your Educatings series. What you said about bullying staying with you, you're right. Im 27 this year, still traumatised from the buying I got from primary school to secondary school. Also had a bit in college and uni. Which really knocked my self esteem, and im afraid that it always will. I have amazing friends and a job which I love, but yeah its still affecting me heavily. I have a stutter and my vocal chords were damaged when I was born, which I only just stopped hating about myself. I'm still going to have moments like that, ngl. I got bullied for those things, esp in secondary school. My school reunion is coming up this month, I only just remembered but I am not going and putting myself through hell. I suppose I to get all that off my chest XD I really appreciate how these vids of yours balance humour and deep topics. Hope you're doing well x

The teacher saying "theres no such thing as a near pass" annoyed me more than it should. Idk if it's different depending on schools but at my school and in college, near passes were definitely a thing

2:42 I’ve worn black shoes of a different sort because my shoes were getting repaired once and then I wore open toed sandals because I had a leg injury. Also, Shoelaces should be abolished

That comment about bugging off if the teacher was late happened to us Psychology class, our teacher never showed BUT, cause she was such a gem and loved us, we waited twenty minutes before piling into the library to remain till the bell NO ONE left Any other class, off, scattered, smoking or ditching But HER We did it for HER, LOVE you Miss O'Brian

I had an English teacher in secondary school who was amazing, she was so encouraging and probably the best teacher I ever had in any School. I think she was only a temporary teacher so she wasn't there very long which sucked, well over 30 years ago lol

People with anxiety/stress disorders aren't weak. You never know what is truly happening behind the scenes unless you genuinely try to understand. Many people do not realize what stress can really do to your body, what symptoms can happen. If you see it happening to kids, ask, offer them help. In general, just be decent to other people and don't judge them for things you don't understand. So many adults act like those school bullies, it's insane. I don't remember my last year of school too well because of my severe anxiety. Though I remember my chemistry teacher laughing at me when I handed him a test, I remember my math teacher telling me that I wasn't smart enough for her class, and I remember my mom yelling at me for 'faking' being sick so often. Other than that, I don't really remember anything. My anxiety was so bad that I threw up multiple times a day, had panic attacks, disassociated, etc. But the vast majority of people just said I was attention seeking and faking. Two years after school I was diagnosed with CPTSD and AvPD. Four years after school, I was declared legally disabled due to stress disorders and was later diagnosed with PNES. All of it stemmed from severe child abuse/neglect, and most people never cared to help me when it was happening. It was easier to say I was an attention seeker and blame me. I wish I had teachers that would allow me to take breaks and cared enough to ask. I would have given anything for help back then.

At much as it's good, he was given a pass to leave class for his anxiety. It will help in the present moment, but long-term, it's going to reinforce it. And so it's better really if he's made to stay there.
