Education for the Whole Person: John Gilmour at TEDxCapeTownED

John Gilmour is the Founder of the LEAP Science and Maths Schools. He was Principal of Abbott's College for five years before leaving to set up the LEAP Science and Maths School. In this deeply personal talk from TEDxCapeTownED, John shares some of his regrets over the conversations he failed to have, and issues a strong call for education the encompasses emotional and cognitive development. His stinging critique of a 'western' of education is amusing and his vulnerable story moving.

I had this man for my principle in school, Abbotts, class of 2001, I am now a senior Devops team lead for a highly successful fintech company. This man and his unique style was largely responsible. Mr Gilmour it was an honour to be at your school and thank you for taking me in

Interesting and thought provoking, I believe Yuri Bezmenov hit it on the nail back in 1985. He basically was saying society needs to turn back to religion. It's interesting how John Gilmour talks about not listening and putting his wants across to the other person, instead of fully listening to them. How many politicians don't listen? 99.999% of them!
