I wasn't critiquing the OP(original post), merely playing to the reply by @fukytube of "Twisted Thinking" to the OP. His comment covered the serpent half, I decided to add the common colloquialism of "Bird Brain" to the latter dove part of the OP. So in sequence: OP, @fukytube, then my comment. In actuality, even though "bird brain" is derogatory, bird brains are highly evolved and in lots of ways, more impressive than the human software upgrade some half a million years ago. The people are easily manipulated. They continue to consume the latest product whether they want to or not. Your phone's slow performance can be fixed with a battery swap but phones are built such that they can't do that and most people support that ideology because it makes their phone look good. A phone should be a utility not a fashion accessory. Sure it can look good but not at the cost of practicality, but the masses are brainwashed so it doesn't matter.
