The biggest issue with “The Flash” is that it’s so concerned with Barry’s mom dying for the whole plot, and yet never once stops to ask, hey who actually killed her? How did she actually die? Like it’s like this movie forgets that someone has to kill her. Sure, if you read the comics you know it’s Zoom, but movie goers don’t know that, and you should at least have addressed that in the movie? Like he isn’t at all interested in who kills his mom???

Personally, i think a Flash film that is a combination of elements from the JLU episode "Flash and Substance" and the origin story of Flash from the Arrowverse would work quite well. Flash would defeat his rogues gallery easily on their own, but struggles once they teamup and outsmart Flash. Throw in a love story with an actual likeable Iris West. Maybe set up Wally West as well. Not difficult. They key is to not treat these characters as gods.
@covek404817 күн бұрын
You're right, but DC has literally survived by treating their characters as gods and politicians for years. It's literally their most common portrayal. When the MCU came out, the only thing that would have been better than an Avengers movie was a Justice League movie, but Marvel sidestepped DC completely by making their characters funny and relatable. The Flash movie was done the moment the videos of Ezra attacking people came out, and The Flash had TWO Ezra Millers. I think Flash fans will have to eat from the TV show only.

I lost my dad a couple of months back. He was in the hospital and I talked to him on the phone to check on him. Before I hung up I had the urge to say I Love You but I didn’t. I thought that was a silly thing to do because I never said that to end a phone conversation with him before. The next morning the hospital called and said he had passed away from a heart attack. I think about that often and wish I could have that moment to do over again. Even though our relationship was strained at the time I want to go back and tell him I loved him. I should have said it. It was an easy thing to do. I will regret that lost opportunity for the rest of my life. I will regret not trying to make our relationship better. If there is one thing I can pass on to people it’s this: if you have an opportunity to say I love you to someone you care about, just say it. Even if things aren’t great between you. It don’t cost you anything. And you may not get another chance.

Maybe Chase Iron Eyes accepts their creepy relationship now because Tokata might go no contact if he doesn't. Chase's retraction Instagram statement does not erase the fact that Miller ingratiated themself in the Iron Eyes family when Tokata was 12/13 years old. The fact that Miller continued their relationship with Tokata into adulthood is a red flag. Mental illness doesn't excuse years-long, methodical (alleged) grooming or cult-building. One can be mentally ill and still know right from wrong.

Not to mention there were other alleged cases of him interacting with other girls as young as 12 years old besides her, so I wouldn't dismiss everything entirely. I think that the worst thing Dark Flash does, narratively, is remove Barry's culpability from doing anything. Like, Barry starts things, but everything after is done by Dark Flash (whether actually him or younger Barry). He pushes him out of the Chronobowl, he gets the powers for most of the movie, he's the one that continually resets the final battle. Barry figures out exceptionally quickly that he has to fix things, but simply doesn't have the ability to for most of the movie. Flashpoint is about Barry figuring out his hero complex and learning he can't fix everything, that there's consequences. But introducing Dark Flash pushes the blame outside of him, changes it from internal to external. Muddies the narrative to make someone else do the bad stuff. Why does Barry have to learn to change himself if he figures it out from the beginning, but loses his powers to stop him doing it, then has to fight a guy who didn't learn the exact same problem? It's not a him problem if Dark Flash is the one doing things

I can legit guarantee you that everything Ezra did, or allegedly did, were already done by other Hollywood Alumni. And in some cases, they might've done worse than anything Ezra allegedly did. He just got caught. That's one of the main reasons WB couldn't just outright condemn him for his actions because they probably did just as bad if not worse themselves as a company. They just couldn't come out and say it. It's the same thing I said when Harvey Weinstein got caught. Yeah, he was a bad man, and I'm glad he got caught. But at the same time if you seriously think he's the only man in Hollywood that did the things he was accused of doing, then you're either very naive, or you're selling something.

My favorite Flash was John Wesley Shipp, in the original Flash series. His costume was almost on point, for the comics, and his personality worked for the character. One of the biggest disappointments for the Flash was in the second series, when they brought in, who we believed to be, Jay Garrick... The body type and costume were almost perfect, and then they pulled out the rug, and gave us another with a different costume... My main complaint about the Flash, on air... They never portray Barry Allen as blond, and have no idea if they would portray the original Wally West as a redhead, if they ever brought him in. They seem to be fixated on making every Flash have brown or black hair, for some reason.

@@phillyvoodoo Ehh, Stockholm Syndrome isn't actually real. It's kinda wild, the history behind that. What happened is that the cops horrifically bungled the "rescue" operation for the hostage crisis. So badly that the cops were shooting at the hostages. The hostages had to take over the hostage negotiations because, you know, that. Afterwards, the hostages understandably were like "yeah uhh, screw the cops, the guys holding us hostage were way more reasonable and sane on account of none of them SHOOTING AT US!" So the city hired a psychologist to label them as insane in response to legal actions taken by them. Stockholm Syndrome was thus invented by that psychologist as a coverup for why the hostages were pissed off at the cops over them larping as American cops. They didn't sympathize with the hostage takers because of some psychological phenomenon, but rather because when your choice is the government that tried to kill you to solve a hostage crisis by getting rid of the hostages or the hostage takers, yeah, you're gonna feel like you're in it with the hostage takers now since the government has decided the easiest way to deal with them is to just kill you.

He was as a member of the "Misfits of Science," a short-lived TV series of compiled from "reject" superheroes molded after Doom Patrol/X-Men. His character had electrical powers, but could also run at the speed of electricity... you know, when he's not traversing around in their team vehicle, an ice cream truck. Needless to say, the show didn't last long and was cancelled before the first season would have ended, though it did return in reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel in the early 90s. "Misfits of Science" was also Courteney Cox' first leading role (as a telekinetic) and one episode was co-written by future "Heroes" creator Tim Kring.

David Goyer perfectly encapsulates the problem with Hollywood and it's been the same for decades. Execs pay the money, true, but they cannot resist interfering with those they appointed to carry out the creative process. It's like the Pope hiring Michaelangelo, then telling him his figures are too muscular, or in the wrong position..... All those directors quitting because of 'creative differences', and execs STILL don't get the message to keep their nebs out. Gene Roddenberry, on showing the pilot for Star Trek to execs, was told to 'get rid of the guy with the ears,' 😂

Nah bro James Gunn's suicide squad was great. And it's kind of obvious that you're reading from a script during bits of the end story, which kind of break the flow. Although that's literally my only two critiques on the video. Seriously near-impeccable work, and thank you for sharing your personal connection to the Flash (both the movie and the character). For my own traumadump: My grandfather had problems that nobody wants to talk to me about, related to WW2 probably, that led him to committing suicide when my dad was 12. My dad remembers vividly being pulled out of class with his older brother to be told that they found his body in some random Aberdeen hotel room 3 days after death. My dad went and joined the navy at 17 instead of going to any sort of therapy. He quickly outranked his brother, which led to them no longer talking. My grandmother remarried. He just sort of sat there with this trauma for nearly 2 decades until I was born. I have ADHD, I'm probably autistic, and to a father who spent 15 years in the military, I make no sense. Every time that I forgot to do something, or something didn't occur to me to do, it really frustrated him. When I was 5, he switched to a worse paying job, specifically so that he could spend more time with his family, and to him, I was spitting in the face of that by disrespecting him, or something, I don't really know. So when nothing else would work, he decided to shout at me until I either cried or shouted back. He played a similar game with my mum. He never hit us, that was his line, but I became petrified of making any sort of mistake, even though I kept doing them accidentally. One time I burst into tears during a trumpet lesson because I couldn't play the high notes and I was letting down the instructor. Eventually I just learned to stay silent when he shouted at me, because that would make it end sooner. But that's how things continued until I turned 17. I turned 17 2 years ago, and 4 months after that, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. And it suddenly became clear to him that I could leave home, just like he did, and then he could never see me again, and he could succumb to his cancer with my main memory of him being all those shouting matches and tears. So he's tried to be a better father and give me something positive to remember him by. He's offered some really helpful advice, he's connected me with some really helpful people, and he's supported me near unconditionally. He even started going to therapy for his own issues. He went into remission two months ago, and he's still continued being as helpful as ever, even outside of the threat of imminent death. I don't know how to forget what my childhood relationship with him was like, and how I can, if I even should, look at the man who is trying his hardest to help me as different to the man who shouted at me until I cried because I lost my hat for the fourth time and read Lord of the Rings instead of getting dressed. He's started going out on long work trips a lot more recently, and despite my best efforts, I never miss him when he's not in the house. He texts to say that he misses me, and I just responded with "love you". I really want to have a better relationship with him and remember the man that he is now when he eventually goes, but I'm really struggling, man. All this just to say, it's more helpful than you know to realise that people have equally complex and troubling relationships with their own parents. Every one of my friends either has loving, supportive parents or abusive pieces of shit, and trying to find out how to deal with something in the middle is really difficult. Thank you.

DC needs to pivot to Wally as the main Flash in live action movies going forward so they can start fresh. Each interpretation borrows heavily from Wally in the first place and the all time greatest Flash stories are during Wally's 30+ years as the fastest man alive. At the very least they need to make a clear distinction of the two characters on the entertainment side that properly adapts both of their personalities and stories without mixing them up and ultimately failing by trying to fit a story written for a different distinct character with another one and ruining both of their legacies. My ideal plan for Flash in the DCU would be an animated silver-age-like show set in the past centered on Barry that leads into him passing on the mantle to Wally who then carries it in the present day movies.

as a black person i've started to become numb to the racism to a scary point that's even concerning me i just laughed and i'm actually starting to enjoy the racism it's messed up, i should be offended but at this point i don't care ... it's become funny

11:00 as someone from the ghetto...they're the same "joke" by rich people about poor people. That dude is my hero 14:37 woaw (basedbasedbasedbasedbasedbasedbasedbased) 15:19 no no, they definitely add to the comedic effect 17:08 I believe it, he probly thought she was catwoman 26:10 teehee, im sitting here icing a bronken toe 34:10 he's literally just a normal guy idk what the problem is 1:00:14 lmaooo that little head shake and sad tv grin...he already knew 1:30:10 nah, like any "small lore to make the supernatural power appear more realistic", it only has to appear once to be set into the audience's brain for the entire time and be unimportant afterwards unless its for a funny moment or villain plot twist moment 1:33:35 that is some incredible moviemaking 1:35:35 it would have some wild effects. The air motion would blow everything around, but the static charge might not effect other people unless it hits them which would fricking hurt 1:51:04 Yes 1:52:07 i mean, that is basically what happened with that release Wouldnt we all though...but we only get one chance, and the faster you try to go, the faster life passes by without you seeing it. You are adorable

1:34:57 Just a quick correction, the movie isn't the first time we see the Flash phase in live action (the CW show had this beaten from season 1 way back in 2015 (S01E17 "Tricksters", where Thawne teaches Barry how to phase so he can get the wrist bomb off)

I really enjoyed the 1990 Flash, what with me being a 10 year old boy at the time. The show's not great in retrospect, but his costume is excellent.

Your math on boxoffice is a little off.... You first add the budget to the advertising budget and then multiply by 2 because the stated boxoffice total has to be split with the theaters first before the studio gets a return.... So in your sample if the production budget was $200mil and the advertising was $200mil, it wouldn't be profitable until $800mil at the box office.....
@Che1Angelius17 күн бұрын
Okay, this one is hard to explain. You expect 2x for (pre and post included) production on the box office, the ad budget are always a different set of numbers since some are getting product placement, own the channel, own the theaters, etc. It's two or more completely different paperwork/tax forms. Example, you have to add the country tax credit to one country you are filming. It gets very moldy.

Zach Snyder's Flash looks the coolest. Grant Gustin's version has awesome plot for first three seasons despite his lack of character growth. But I agree flash hasn't really been explored in depth like Man of Steel or Metro-Man.

Interesting, The Flash was never much of an interest for me, I had no idea how many 'names' were involved as cast and crew over the years.

Keaton's Bats did NOT murder Joker. His death was accidental for the most part.

Flash doesn’t fall through the floor when phasing cus he keeps the tips of his toes solid so as he steps through something he’ll completely phase the foot goings through the objects and the foot that’s not yet going through keeps it’s toes solid then when the legs through that foots solid and vibrates the other to pass it through as well

Hey man great video! I really enjoyed every part of it. However, I feel like your videos would benefit a lot more from being more focused. I feel like you spend a lot of time beating around a bush or spending time on parts that don’t help prove your point. It can be a bit excessive at times. Great for a more general essay but with one that is supposed to be as focused as this one I feel that it should be more optimized. I hope this didn’t upset you, just wanted to give a suggestion

Actually, John Wesley Shipp's Flash and Grant Gustin's Flash DO work on film. The title is just flat-out incorrect. Clearly, just click bait.

Many people don’t know this, but Ezra Miller is actually capable of shooting a 1:1 copy of themself out of their hand that has all the same strengths and abilities as the normal Ezra.
